Tribes of Midgard is an action adventure game developed by ‘Norsfell‘ and published by ‘Gearbox publishing‘. Tribes of Midgard is said to be coming out the 16th of August 20222 on the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One and Nintendo Switch. It’s already out open PS5, PS4 and PC. Once again haven’t heard of this game at all until it’s now on it’s way to Xbox. We like norse mythology games. X35 Earthwalker will be the judge as always. Let’s take a look.
The story in Tribes of Midgard is simple. Basically Midgard is under attack. dangerous spirits, mythical creatures and off course giants… real mean big giants all want a piece of the action here. They just might bring on Ragnarök… as in the end of the world. So what’s the solution? Cut, shoot, smash your enemies as powerful warriors. Players control a einherjar. What’s an einherjar? Well it’s an elite warrior who died and got taken to Valhalla by Valkyries and they get to battle for eternity and eat proper good food all day. You interrupt your eating to come down and face the troubles on Midgard.
Tribes of Midgard is a familiar style. Top view, run around, numerous enemies and smash them with characters of different classes. Yep. There’s multiple classes. In Tribes of Midgard players can choose from Ranger, berserker, hunter, warrior, seer, sentinel, warden and guardian. There’s a good variety here but we hope there’s clear differences. Guardian is like the tank and can taunt enemies. Warriors love melee combat and even spell casting. Seer can weaken their enemies while empowering their allies. So yeah, make sure too read them all to find out what they are about.
We checked out some Tribes of Midgard gameplay and it’s what we expected. What’s also available that we expected is that there’s multiplayer. Grab some allies and face the foes together. A game like this needs co-op. We like that there’s different types of giants. We saw a flaming one too. Just looks like a casual fun game.
Overall Tribes of Midgard looks like a not serious but fun game with some depth to it. There’s more going on in Tribes of Midgard but we won’t say everything. The graphics are nothing special. Alright even but the art style is good. We like the mechanics, the classes and the more causal gameplay. The developers ‘Norsefell’ have done a good job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker like combat casual multiplayer games and will have to see what this game brings. Now Tribes of Midgard may have mythological beings but those things are too pathetic for… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Raji: An Ancient Epic is an action adventure that we at X35 Earthwalker had a good time with. This game is excellent. Right off the bat we will say that. Raji: An Ancient Epic was developed by ‘Nodding Heads games‘ and published by ‘Super‘. For the X35 record (which is superior to everyone else’s record), we want everyone to know we have played and beaten both the original and Enhanced Edition of Raji: An Ancient Epic. Here”s our quick thoughts. Let’s take a look.
Not only have we completely Raji: An Ancient Epic with style but we also got every Xbox achievement for the game too. So X35 Earthwalker is well versed in this game. First of all Raji: An Ancient Epic is definitely a journey game. More relaxing and chill than serious. That sort off changed with Enhanced Edition. Bit more on that latter. There’s no other game that gave an experience like Raji: An Ancient Epic. It’s certainly unique. X35 Earthwalker would recommend that gammers try this game at least once. It’s not the best game or the greatest but it’s certainly special. The simple of story of a big sister who just wants to save her brother turns into a battle to save the whole world as she realises that there’s much more going on bigger than her and her brother. We really do understand the whole big sister, little brother and how they just have each other.
We enjoyed the hindu mythology that’s at the centre of this game. The website claims it’s a blend of hindu and balinese but one is clearly more identifiable and big than the other in Raji: An Ancient Epic. We like those story walls that gave some quick information on these mythological figures like shiva and durga for example. We don’t know exactly how accurate Raji: An Ancient Epic is with the hindu mythology especially where it said that both shiva and durga are half of another being who they came from. Hindu mythology has so much disagreement and questions and stuff that just doesn’t make sense. We see this online between hindus who don’t agree. Regardless it was nice and interesting to learn. Still hate brauma though as he started all this. He gave a demon eternal life and a god slaying weapon… what could possibly go wrong.
Let’s quickly explain the original vs Enhanced Edition. Enhanced Edition added new things. There’s a new game mode, there’s Hindi voice option for the dialogues. There’s new enemies as in stronger variants of the original enemies. Some like the standard big demon with the club now has new moves altogether. They are more aggressive. There’s a bigger version of it that can send out spiritual versions of itself to attack you. Those annoying monkey like demons are harder to interrupt, they can juggle you in groups, more aggressive, have an actual pounce attack and have a big brother version of them which attacks with a sword tail. The enemies are overall stronger and harder to beat. More enemies show up and at times can be a bit unfair. Enhance Edition made us have to sit ups a few times when fighting instead of just leaning back and relaxing. By the way. The gameplay above is of the Enhanced Edition. The ones below are of the original game.
Raji: An Ancient Epic Enhanced Edition is the time to try this game. The game now looks even better. They fixed Raji’s face and she looks so much better now. It’s harder, more modes, additional options and actually poses a challenge now. We still like the look of but hate those stupid fish guardians who try to eat your platforms. We liked the giant flying peacock and it did look impressive in the skies above. The city hiranya nagari is still the best level in the game. Such a beautiful area. There’s lots to see and experience Raji: An Ancient Epic. When you go through the levels, you should try to look around. One, you get too see all this game has going on and two, you can find the favour of the gods to improve your fighting capabilities.
We did notice this negative. Some of the abilities you can get through using your favour orbs from the gods that you find don’t work properly or at all. The lightning that’s suppose to strike from above… we don”t see it. We actually ended up ignoring that ability completely. The freeze enemies as you continue to hit them isn’t effective enough from our experience. The fire abilities all work but it;”s the lightning and ice that has one that isn’t effective or doesn’t work.
Last major upgrade to Raji: An Ancient Epic from the Enhanced Edition is the bosses all got tuned up. They are all stronger and harder. The naga as in that giant snake was cool but he now sprays venom to attack you if he knows you are hiding behind that structure. He didn’t. The first big demon boss has these long chains with flames to hit you and he chases you down which is a complete upgrade from the original boss. Rangda seems the same but her attacks might be faster and more relentless in tracking you. She is so disturbing being a incredibly old demon lady with claw nails and sausage, banana dangling breasts. You can’t get her horrible image out of your head. The big boss mahabalasura is also stronger. Has new attacks, more active and will catch players off guard. He will rush you down.
Overall, Raji: An Ancient Epic especially Enhanced Edition is an excellent game. We seriously enjoyed it. It’s colourful, beautiful to look at and has amazing environments that you want to explore. It’s also simple. We haven’t seen a place like the city hiranya nagari in any game to this day. It’s worth playing for sure. Now remember that this G-blog isn’t a full review, just a quick thing about it. There’s way more and so much more to talk about in detail and say but we will leave it here. An easy 9/10 from X35 Earthwalker. Raji: An Ancient Epic may have gods and demons but they are all a complete joke compare too… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Solstice is a hack and slash action adventure game developed by ‘Reply Game Studios‘ and published by ‘Modus games‘. Solstice is said to be coming out the 20th of September 2022 on the Xbox Series X, PS5 and PC. Solstice is looking real serious right now. X35 Earthwalker likes to see big new games that are bringing some fire.
Solstice is definitely looking big right now. There’s a ‘holy kingdom’ of keidas which has a balance situation going on. Then wraiths show up. These feral creature invade and they are all about getting rid of all living things. There are beings called chimeras who are like hybrid warriors. They alone can face and defeat the wraiths. We won’t say more.
In Soulstice, you control two sisters who have basically been reborn as chimera. Briar got a huge strength boost. Superhuman levels. Same for her toughness. Her sister, Lute, was sacrificed to bind her soul to her sister. She is now a ghost who has mystical powers. That’s how hybrids are formed after all. Two people must unite and one must be sacrificed. So Briar and Lute are powerful enough to face the wraiths now. They have multiple abilities and weapons to bring to this battle.
Don’t forget that wraiths can corrupt their victims/prey and can even take it to the next level to possess their bodies. They overran a city and really ruined it. Briar and Lute get sent there to handle the situation and get the city back… but off course the group or Order they are working for has hidden agendas. So yeah, can they be trusted? We don’t even trust Soulstice. The city f Elden has multiple secrets and to find and puzzles to solve.
We checked out some Soulstice gameplay and it’s what we expected. Lots off team work with your spirit sister. A ghost sister has many abilities. Stuff you would expect as well. Shielding, pushing back, attacks, enhancing and lots of support. We see a variety of attacks coming your way. We do like that the wraiths look like wraiths. They are ghoulish, long, and actually look like they come straight from a horror world. Scary maybe. There’s detail here. Enemies need to look scary and dangerous… most of the time. We know there are different types off course. For example there’s: Wraiths, Corrupted and Possessed. Let’s just say Lute may be able to help with that.
Overall Soulstice looks like it’s going too be a very good game. We like the animations and the visuals of the game. The combat looks smooth and that matters here. As always there’s so much we can say but we will leave it there. We can see all the potential and mechanics that can be done here in Soulstice. The developers ‘Reply Game Studios’ better not mess this up. This can be big for sure. We at X35 Earthwalker will have to see how big Soulstice becomes. Now Soulstice may have hybrids and wraiths but those beings are pathetic compared too… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Temtem is a massively multiplayer adventure game developed by ‘Crema‘ and published by ‘Humble Games‘. Temtem is said to be coming out the 6th of September 2022 on the Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, PS5 and PC. Temtem is definitely getting our attention. X35 Earthwalker has lots to say as he’s the expert but not everything should be said. Let’s take a look.
TemTem is really described as a “massively multiplayer creature-collection” game. Take one look at the Temtem trailer and you will instantly think of another big popular game/anime. We are not going to say which one though… okay fine, it’s Pokemon. The developers even admit that Temtem was inspired by Pokemon and we respect that. Now this is a big deal of course as being like the next Pokemon. There’s the biggest amounts of expectations. There’s more expectations and judgement here than you would get when Halo Infinite was going to be coming out. There’s so many factors. So many.
So here’s the quick story. It is like every kids dream to become a Temtem tamer. A Temtem tamer is basically a Pokemon trainer. You find and catch these creatures and go on a big adventure together with them. The location is Omninesia called the ‘Airborne Archipelago’ which is made up of 6 islands. So now it’s your turn to go on an adventure, meet new people and hopefully find and catch new creatures. Maybe the term in Temtem is ‘tame’ instead of catch.
There’s even a bad guy group. No group will be as iconic as Team Rocket Jesse and James. Temtem’s bad guys are called ‘Clan Belsoto’. They want to rule the whole Archipelago. What’s their ideology? Play the game and find out for yourselves. You lazy bums! Now Temtem does give us feelings of the game Tera. Temtem has far more focus on socialising and player interaction than Pokemon. There’s emotes, Rock Paper Scissors and many players can be seen running around and dong whatever. There’s vehicles to help you traverse the land and waters. You can ride Temtems and ACTUALLY SEE your character doing that.
We checked out some Temtem gameplay and it’w hast we expected. There’s also eight dojo leaders (gym leaders) who you need to take down and prove your skills. The battling does look quite cool. Standard battles but more active animations. Nothing too fancy yet in terms of mechanics. Will there be HM and TM? Are there side stories and multiple options? Are there different endings? Will Pokemon have personalities that actually matter and maybe effect how they relate to you? Will relationships with Temtem matter or no? Lots to think about. There’s a number of things we noticed and know but won’t speak on. Temtem has a lot to live up to and defeat. We want to see a game like this do well.
Overall Temtem looks like it’s going to be a very good game indeed. Games like this are wanted and appreciated. There’s so many factors that the developers, ‘Crema’ have to take into account. There needs to be many Temtems, many moves and a good battle system. Do your best developers. We at X35 Earthwalker will keep an ear open for this game. TemTem many be the next Pokemon but it’s currently;y nothing compared to… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Infernax is an old school adventure platformer game. X35 Earthwalker himself has beaten this game twice with two different characters. We can straight of the boat say that Infernax is a very good game. Infernax is suppose to be like the old games. It’s suppose to remind gamers of the old days with those old games. Like NES games. They did a very good job of this. Infernax is successful.
If you wanted more information on Infernax and the plot then read our previous G-blog on this game. simply put you are the duke. Warrior duke who returns him to find that demons and evil is around. A specific book brought these evil things here. Many are dying and being slain all around the place. So yeah. Time to fight.
It’s definitely old school. Pixel graphics, little health, many enemies, experience points, side scrolling, bosses, areas and more. It felt good to play a completely different style of game from what we usually have in these days. This game also has more going on in it than you’d originally think. Multiple side quests and even some secrets. It’s not a simple mash a button game. Infernax has multiple endings as well. 8 we believe. Simply put there’s the good ending, pure good ending, evil ending, pure evil ending and then there’s 4 more extra endings, including one where you are evil but then turn good in the end. So the replayability is definitely here.
There’s many enemies in this game. Quite a lot. So much that there’s a whole catalog of them. It’s the demonology. It keeps track of how many of them you have killed. We definitely liked this as it also showed how many more enemies we haven’t encountered yet. Most enemies aren’t a problem in our opinion. This leads a to a problem in Infernax. Like those old games, Infernax is tough. There’s some difficulty to the game but not that much. We can think of many old games that are harder than Infernax. The only time we really lost lives was through instant death falls like pits or landing in the water. The water castle dungeon’s whole gimmick is water everywhere and you can get kicked into the water easily. Just like some old games. That’s not difficult. That’s just annoying. The game was too easy for us. So we was disappointed in that.
The upgrades and magic system was very good. We liked that when you acquired a new mace or armour you actually see it on your character. A colour change and the design. We appreciate that. Always good. Bigger games need a toggle feature for that. The magic is excellent. The magic actually matter in this game. Infernax did good with that. Magic for fast travel, changing the time from day to night and vice versa. Magic to summon birds to fight alongside you and gather coins. There’s magic to give you a projectile. There’s magic for full screen damaging thunder strike attack. We like and have used all the magic in the game. Very good job with the magic.
Now this is our last real complaint. Sure we hated the water castle level. Sure we wished there was more useful npcs and better social interactions. Our other complaint is the a bit funny but false warning/disclaimer. This thing lied to us. There’s no “saucy language”. There wasn’t “copius amounts of gore”. Worst of all… there was no “half clothed demon people of varying degrees of attractiveness.” The closest we got was the final boss who has breasts. That’s it. If you are going to give this much of a warning and attention… YOU BETTER DELIVER! We thought this game might be more extreme with the dialogues, the gore and the half naked demons but whatever.
Overall Infernax is a very good game. The combat is good. It’s definitely old school. Has some difficulty. Good variety of magic. An upgrade system and many bosses. All pretty much looking ugly and clearly demonic. We like that there’s different characters to play as. You have to unlock them. There’s a wizard who uses mana for his standard attack, which is a long beam with multi hit potential. There’s four that we know of in total. They wield different weapons too so give them a try. This is a short review so don’t expect much details here. Play it for yourself. X35 Earthwalker himself had a lot of fun.
Trek to Yomi is an action adventure game developed by ‘Leonard Menchiari‘ and ‘flying Wild Hog‘ but published by ‘Devolver Digital‘. Trek to Yomi is said to be coming the 5th of May 2022 on the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, PS5, PS4 and PC. We see the colour scheme, we see the samurai weapons and know what’s up. X35 Earthwalker always knows. Let’s take a look.
Trek to Yomi has a simple story concept. Players control a young swordsman named Hiroki. You made a vow to your dying master to protect your town and the people you love against ALL threats. So being a samurai and all, your honour is top priority. You must keep your vow… or should you? So yeah, grab your weapons, get tactical and fight for your life.
So don’t just sit there. You must get going. “Voyage beyond life and death” is how they described it. Hiroki must confront himself and decide his path forward. Quite the description. The fact that you must DECIDE your path means there are multiple paths. So is there a whole ‘your choices have consequences’ mechanic going on? When you go through this game, make sure to check out the environment and surroundings. Have you seen the rocks, the lighting and how the lights go through the trees above? Definitely take a look.
Trek to Yomi is also said to have camera angles and visuals to help create a “true cinematic” experience. Doing the whole old school samurai movie. So take note of those angles. Hiroko is doing all this with a huge burden. He has failed to keep the promise before. So get up and do a beer Jon this time. We are sure you not you noticed by now but Trek to Yomi is black and white. Games that go black and white have a heavy reason for it and are demanding to be taken seriously. We won’t yet.
We checked out some Trek to Yomi gameplay and it’s not exactly what we expected. Remember when we said that you must protect against all threats? We didn’t say armies. There’s swordsmen off course as that’s obvious. Samurai and blades and all. There’s also supernatural beings as well. This is a very good addition to the game. Just human enemies would be boring in a game like this. Adding supernatural beings does spice things up. So know we have to wonder what will the supernatural enemies be. We expect creativity and actually cool enemies. It’s Japanese mythology after all. We expect some messed up stuff. The animations are fantastic though. We are digging that for sure.
Overall Trek to Yomi looks like it’s going to be a good game. The combat reminds us of batman Arkham city. Multiple hits, counter, they surround you, they come at you one at a time. Yep, that style. This means timing is key and maybe being patient. This doesn’t seem like a hard game though. Might even be too easy. We will again say that the visuals are excellent. We liking how the leaves and trees look in the back. How the wind blows them. The developers ‘Leonard Menchiari‘ and ‘flying Wild Hog‘ have done a good job so far. We at X35 Earthwalker will have to keep an ear open for this game. Now Trek to Yomi might have samurai weapons but those things are useless against… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Bugsnax is an adventure game developed and published by ‘young Horses‘. Bugsnax is said to be coming to Xbox and also on the Nintendo Switch on the 28th of April 2022. Bugsnax doesn’t really need an introduction really. It was talked about, quite a bit and wrongly made fun of. X35 Earthwalker knew this game wasn’t lame. Let’s take a look.
This will be a quick G-blog. Bugsnax is coming to Xbox and with a big update but more on that later. Here’s a quick story intro. The adventure of bugsnax takes place on Snaktooth island. The beings that live here are basically half bug and half snack… for some reason. Yes, you can eat them. We wouldn’t though. Basically Elizabert Megafig who’s an explorer, showed up at the island and is now gone missing. So yeah, go find her and watch out for the food creatures.
So expect weird characters, silly characters and funny moments. Use your wits and equipment to capture certain Bugsnaxs. You need to solve the mysteries of Snaktooth Island. There’s exploration required. People have spoken well about this game… only after people gave it a try.
This isn’t just Bugsnax. It’s coming with a big update bringing new things. The update brings “around three hours of new story and quest content.” This island came up from the sea. So what’s that about? Also, this island for some reason has Bugsnaxs but they are “giant-sized”. They are much bigger than normal and can even bully you. We saw one bounce a person away. So watch out for burger Bugsnax
All Bugsnax players will also get a free new update: The Isle of Bigsnax! adds around three hours of new story and quest content where you explore a strange island that has risen from the sea, crawling with giant-sized Bugsnax.
We checked out some Bugsnax gameplay and it’s what we though it is. There’s definitely a lot going on in this world and the character interactions have a a lot of the highlights of this game. So don’t rush through anything.
Overall Bugsnax seems like a good game. Not it’s not explosions and battle Royale but it has it’s own whimsical silly style. Now that it’s coming to the most powerful console, the Xbox Series X, you can now have the best Bugsnax experience. We at X35 Earthwalker will have to keep an eye on this game. Now Bugsnax may have tasty creatures but they aren’t as tasty as… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Souldiers is an action adventure platformer game developed by ‘Retro Forge‘ and published by ‘Dear villagers‘. Souldiers is said to be coming out the 19th of May 2022 on the Xbox Series X, Xbox Series S, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4 and PC. This game looks like it’s bringing some battles. X35 Earthwalker is the master of battles. Let’s take a look.
Souldiers has a bit of a strange universe. Not too strange though. Basically here’s what happened. You and your fellow soldiers re out fighting… for glory reasons. You all get sent to Terragaya. Terragaya is a mystical land that’s on the edges of the afterlife. Caught between the living and the fallen. So expect mythological creatures, expect death, expect enemies. Expect exploration and totally not natural stuff. Your mission? To find the Guardian and therefore more on to the next world.
There’s three characters classes to pick from in Souldiers. Scout, Archer and Caster. Each one off course is different. Different weapons and therefore different ways of fighting. There’s magic, there’s archery and there’s shield and sword. the stats are health, attack, defence and agility. We are sure anyone can figure out what those represent. Right out the jump we are looking at the archer class right now. We hope the scout class (shield and sword) doesn’t become the plain basic one. Hopefully all classes become actually cool and fun to use. Powerful in their own ways. Oh and one more thing… the soldiers can’t die. How trippy is that?
We checked out some Souldiers gameplay and it’s what we expected from a game like this. Souldiers has very nice animations. there’s multiple mechanics going on here in the combat. The Archer for example can fire different types of arrows. The arrows are on a cool down, so no spamming around here. You can upgrade your character and make your abilities and attacks more powerful. Enemies have the chance to dodge your attacks. So manage your mana, arrows and use your potions right. There’s masteries which is like an upgrade tree with mostly passive abilities to make you better.
Overall souldiers looks like a very good game. We like the environments and levels. Lots of colours around here. The enemies are aggressive and some have their own special abilities. A bat might yell at you… that’s scary. You can interact with the environment and some objects like turn a wind mill to produce wind to clear away poisonous gas. There’s lots of platforming and exploration required here so look around. The developers ‘Retro forge’ have done a very good job. We at X35 Earthwalker will keep an eye open for this game. Souldiers may have undying soldiers but they will stay dead if they faced… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Road 96 is an action adventure game developed by ‘Digixart‘ and published by ‘Ravenscourt‘. Road 96 is said to be coming out April 14th 2022 on the Xbox Series X and Xbox One. It’s already out on Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4 and PC. We haven’t seen or heard anything about this game on those platforms. Now Road 96 is said to be a wild and unpredictable road trip. X35 Earthwalker will be the judge of that. Let’s take a look.
Road 96 is one big road trip. We mean that. Car, travelling, people, far away destination and everything. The year is 1996. The season is summer. The location is Petria. An authoritarian nation. You’ve gots to get out of there. Escape the regime. Travel by vehicle, meet people along the way, make many decisions and choose which roads to take… which is a problem since there are thousands of roads across Petria and each decision you make, changes your adventure.
Road 96 is said to make sure that everyone’s road trip isn’t the same. That’s because the road trip is procedurally generated. So yeah… have fun with that. Now like with real people, everyone has a story and even secrets. So talk to these people you meet and be careful. It has been stated though that your decisions “will change your adventure, change the people you meet, maybe even change the world.” This sounds more promising than other games with this mechanic. Many games fail at implementing the whole choices have consequences mechanic.
We checked out some Road 96 gameplay and it’s not exactly what we expected. Players can expect 90s music, weird almost cartoony, wacky situations, encounters with the police, straight up unfair treatment, danger and more. Matter of fact, there can even be a robbery taking place and they want your money. That’s something to think about. So yeah, wacky stuff. This is wild adventure. There’s even corrupt cops and also good cops, so knowing who to trust and what to do is also part of things.
Overall Road 96 seems like a good game so far. Like we said earlier we heard nothing about this game when it was on pc, playstation and Nintendo. Maybe things will change when it comes to Xbox. Procedurally generated games tend to be a lot of fun. There’s many things to check and see in Road 96. The developers ‘Digixart’ have done a good job so far. We at X35 Earthwalker will have to see what this game has on the road for us. Now Road 96 may have random adventures but it’s easy to plan for… the Earth Walk!’
Outbreak: Contagious Memories is an action survival horror developed and published by ‘Drop Dead studio‘. Outbreak: Contagious Memories is said to be coming out the 6th of April 2022 on the Xbox Series X, Xbox One and PC. This game is trying to get back to the world of ’90s survival horror. X35 Earthwalker has lots to write about. Let’s take a look.
So basically you control Lydia who is desperately trying to escape from a city that’s been overrun by the undead. It’s all about survival out here. Resident evil fans might want to take a look over here. Outbreak: Contagious Memories is trying to bring in that 90s survival horror. That means, weird camera angles, things jumping in from off screen, cheap jumps scares, limited ammo, so on and so on. Now off course we are being mean but let’s give Outbreak: Contagious Memories a chance.
So you should already know what to expect from this game. Outbreak: Contagious Memories has options for camera angles. There’s first person view, retro fixed camera and an over the shoulder view. You can change the camera at anytime. You will hear about other survivors and their plans for survival. You will hear new reports about what the nations are doing to combat this undead plague. Outbreak: Contagious Memories is among to get players feeling like they are in the game and feeling the weight of the situation. Get immersed as they say.
Listen to this, “Mo-cap animations, cheesy voiceovers and enhanced visuals await as you solve puzzles and fight for your life.” this does sound quite 90s and older style. Outbreak: Contagious Memories is said to have brutally gory combat. The resources are said to be extremely limited. Outbreak: Contagious Memories is also going for crushing difficulty. Now how are they going to do this? By granting high damage to enemies and keep resources extremely limited? Will it be in the layout of the areas? X35 Earthwalker easily can make a game like Outbreak: Contagious Memories very very difficult without it being lame and cheap. Let’s see if these guys can get it right.
We checked out some Outbreak: Contagious Memories gameplay and it’s what we expected for the most part. The style, the camera but weak on the visual side of things. Also Outbreak: Contagious Memories is quite a dark game. Some parts will literally require a source of light like a flashlight or you don’t know what’s in there. Expect reflections, so watch those mirrors as it could save your life. Everything is trying to kill you basically and expect blood and gore. We want to see that blood and gore, so don’t get cheap on us. We hope for a variety of threats and danger. We want the standard undead enemy but also want more that require serious thinking on the part of the players. Maybe there’s some routes you just don’t want to go because of a certain enemy. We will have to see.
Overall Outbreak: Contagious Memories looks like a god game right now. It’s another survival horror game with emphasis on extreme difficulty and being a part of the survival. The developers Drop Dead studios have done a good job so far. We at X35 Earthwalker will have to keep an ear open for this game to see how difficult and gory it is. Now Outbreak: Contagious Memories may have limited resources but what’s never limited is… the ‘Earth Walk!’
