X35 Earthwalker Highwater

Highwater is a Turn based adventure game developed by ‘Demogog Studio‘ and published by ‘Rouge Games‘. Highwater is said to be coming out the 14th of March 2024 on the Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, Android, iOS PS5, PS4 and PC. X35 Earthwalker is powerful swimmer… floods are no problem. Highwater looking to get players wet. Let’s take a look.

Highwater is set in a world that suffered from a “global climate catastrophe”. The events of the game take place after the catastrophe. The place is submerged. A flood. Players control Nikos and his friends. Their mission? To find and board a rocket on its way to Mars. This rocket is only a rumour though but when faced with a flooded destroyed world, you got to take the chance.

X35 Earthwalker Highwater

Highwater is a weird one because it’s described as an adventure game but also a turn based strategy game. There’s also puzzle elements too. There’s lots going on here. Highwater will have players travel around primarily on what looks like a speedboat. You will hopefully find others out there who will join you in your mission and even better, help you out in a fight. So navigate this flooded world, clash with insurgents, use your head to solve puzzles and hopefully make it to the rocket.

X35 Earthwalker Highwater

It’s quite clear but friendship seems to be at the centre of this game here,. Trusting others, working together, being willing to help, getting each others backs and never giving up. To make things better, players got Highwater Pirate Radio to keep the tunes coming. Read this official text, “In Highwater, the true essence lies in savoring the modest victories, grappling with the harsh setbacks, and overcoming the peculiar obstacles encountered throughout this unconventional journey. These experiences take precedence over the destination itself, making for a captivating and thought-provoking adventure.” We doubt it but let’s see.

X35 Earthwalker Highwater

We checked out some Highwater gameplay and it’s what we expected. There is more than just water. There’s also Alphaville and the war zone. Both on either side of the flooded Hightower. We like that alphaville plays a role in this game. It’s fortified and where the wealthy are holding up. Nikos better steal a sandwich. Gameplay is standard indie game stuff. Thanks to the Highwater Pirate radio, this game has the tunes. Games like this rely on music to get the atmosphere, mood and feelings going. The combat is standard for this type but more emphasis on using items and the environments… hence some puzzle elements. Like knocking down a tree to get the upper hand. We won’t say much.

Overall Highwater looks like an alright game so far. Highwater is blending a bunch of things and it seems to work so far. There’s more than one type of transportation. We wonder if the rocket is actually true. If it is true then why haven’t the rich gone for it? Maybe their life is better here. Who’s in charge of the radio? Questions indeed. The developers ‘Demogog studio’ have done a good job so far. We at X35 Earthwalker will have to hear what what this game gets done. Highwater may have floods but those water are too shallow for… the ‘Earth Walk!’

X35 Earthwalker Shuyan Saga

Shuyan Saga is a action adventure game developed by ‘Lofty Sky Entertainment’ and published by ‘ESDigital Games‘. Shuyan Saga is said to be coming out on the 22nd of September 2023 on Xbox Series X/S, Nintendo Switch, PS5 and PS4. Shuyan Saga was already out on iOS, Android and pc back in like 2017 or something. X35 Earthwalker like to see what games got and give them a chance. Shuyan Saga trying to wow with the graphics. Let’s take a look.

X35 Earthwalker Shuyan Saga

Shuyan Saga is set in the world of ancient Chinese culture. Shuyan is a princess, of the Chinese imperial family, who wants to be a true kung fu warrior and stop the Guer horde. The Guer horde have made it their goal to destroy the five kingdoms. This is also a personal matter as Shuyan lost everything to the goer invasion. She got to get good and get good real quick. The invasion is only beginning.

X35 Earthwalker Shuyan Saga

We got one question for the wise reader of this G Blog. Who is the real enemy? Hmmmmmm. “Success is not what Shuyan perceived it to be.” This alone should get players thinking concerning the story and the world of Shuyan Saga. The story and adventure revolves around the five kingdoms. Each kingdom was built on the foundations of kung fu. so pay attention to each one’s culture and values. Also take note that the player can make some choices in Shuyan Saga. Your choices just might matter.

X35 Earthwalker Shuyan Saga

The main factor on the table with Shuyan Saga is the martial arts itself. How good is the fighting? The battles have been described as “skill-based”. There’s different fighting styles and each one has their own moves and functions. There are light and heavy attacks, combos of course and special abilities which are said to be powerful. There’s over 300 combat animations and motion capture is involved. X35 Earthwalker is the best at motion capture. Expect unique fights.

X35 Earthwalker Shuyan Saga

We checked out some Shuyan Saga gameplay and it’s not exactly what we expected. It seems like more story book and less gameplay. Yes we are aware it’s a graphical novel but a game must have a good amount of gameplay with more fullness to it and more mobility especially for chinese martial arts.. So that’s the main negative we can see with Shuyan Saga right now. Regardless it’s still an experience. The animations of the combat could look better but there’s clear-ish distinction between the moves. After all X35 Earthwalker himself is a martial artist.

Overall Shuyan Saga looks like a very good game. Lots of work went into this game clearly. From the graphic style and details to the animations and cinematic. This is quite the adventure and the princess, Shuyan herself, has an excellent design. She look good. The story in the chapters and the book style is different fun. Colourful and detailed. The developers ‘Lofty Sky Entertainment’ have done a very good job. Tings should be better since Shuyan Saga is coming to consoles. X35 Earthwalker will keep an ear open for this game when it comes to console. Shuyan Saga may have loads of kung fu but their king fu is too weak for… the ‘Earth Walk!’

X35 Earthwalker Mia and the Dragon Princess

Mia and the Dragon Princess is a live action, interactive action game…/ movie… developed by ‘Wales Interactive‘, ‘Dead Pixel productions’ and ‘good gate media’ but published by ‘Wales Interactive‘ alone. Mia and the Dragon Princess is said to be coming out the 21st of April 2023 on the Xbox Series X, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Android, iOS and pc. These types of games are rare for sure. X35 Earthwalker likes to see these types of games. Let’s take a look.

Mia and the Dragon Princess is a rare type of game indeed. If we asked you to name other games like this, you’d most likely get stuck. Mia and the Dragon Princess is like The Quarry, Until Dawn etc but it’s real people and actors, hence the live action description. We appreciate the work that goes into games like this. Now Mia and the Dragon Princess is about well… Mia. Good guess. She is a barmaid. Then one day a woman shows up at her work place. She is being chased by violent thugs. Yep… definitely not another Tuesday for Mia. Oh and on top of all that. This mysterious lady can’t speak English. Have fun with that.

X35 Earthwalker Mia and the Dragon Princess

So this is a whole movie but basically made into a game. Players will influence what happens. You know the drill. Decided what response the characters have, what to do. Pick between a selection of options or maybe just to. Spare him, or end him. Etc. There’s going to be a lot of action. So expect combat, some elbow strikes, a kick and real combat. So expect this to be an experience and enjoy the show. Things do look somewhat kind of goofy though. Some of the characters do look more comedic.

We checked out some Mia and the Dragon Princess gameplay and it’s what we expected. We can say there’s quite a lot of characters here. Some choices seem to be on a timer so players need to think and decide fast. There are no indicators on how difficult it will be. Since it’s a movie we expect it just be very simple to get through and more of a ride for players. Games like this, there isn’t that much to say but we know exactly what we would be looking out for. You can’t move around a room and control characters off course.

Overall Mia and the Dragon Princess looks like it’s going to be an alright game. Can it be called a game? Well yes as there is some input but to a more minimal level. It’s a movie after all. The plot looks like it’s going to be taken more seriously, instead of just letting it all be about the action. The developers ‘Wales Interactive’ have done a good job so far. We at X35 Earthwalker will have to hear how this game does. Mia and the Dragon Princess may have some live combat action but it’s all too undisciplined for… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead is a new is a new physics based puzzle game developed by ‘Clockstone‘ and published by ‘Headup‘. Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead is said to be coming out 2020 on the Xbox Series X, Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS5, PS4, Android, IOS, Mac and PC. Basically almost everything. Prepare to use your brains. Let’s take a look.

Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead has a very simple story. After all this is a game about building bridges. You will be following a bunch of survivors. They are obviously trying to survive against the zombies. Not just the zombies though but also a community of humans who are dangerous and described as hostile. You help them by building bridges AND other constructs.

Let’s keep this simple. Famous characters like Eugene, Michonne and Daryl are in Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead. Recognisable vehicle’s from the series are in this game too. So the Walking Dead fans should definitely see things they like. The biggest stand out for this game is that it’s physics based. So you can’t just build however you want, unrealistically and expect heavy vehicles to not fall through them and blow up. Gravity is a real thing here so keep that in mind. The enemies, zombies, are dumb so using moveable objects, bait and even explosives are viable.

There is no gameplay of whatsoever but we know you will have a variety of locations to be building your bridges and structures. The description was “bleak landscapes and ruined structures”. The word ‘ruined’ gives some ides but we can expect broken bridges, homes or police stations too. At the end of the day you are using your brain to build bridges and solve many different scenarios. So have fun. Pule lovers should enjoy this.

Overall it’s a bridge building game. Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead is for specific types of gamers. It’s not our thing but Bridge Constructor has some fans and The Walking Dead itself also has fans so when you combine the two, you may have quite the audience. There’s no comment here on the graphics and sounds. The developers ‘Clockstone’ are working on this. We at X35 Earthwalker will have to see what this game will bring out. Now Bridge Constructor: The Walking Dead may have physics but it’s nothing compared to the reality of… the ‘Earthwalker’

Raid: Shadow Legends is a popular mobile turn based RPG developed and published by ‘Plarium‘. This game came out in 2018. Now this game is popping up in so many places. Those annoying youtubers are promoting them and being sponsored by Raid. So with Raid popping up in many places it must be good… wrong! Let’s take a look.

Speaking of youtubers funny that we never hear them give an update or talk about how things are going for them in the game Raid: Shadow Legends. We wonder why… Anyway. We won’t waste time. The first thing you will notice that every time you log into the game a micro transaction will pop up in your face. Yes, every time you log in a deal is thrown in your face. Not just 1, 2, 3, literally at times it was 5 deals one after the other in our face. The developers are literally coming to your door as salesman one after another trying to get you to buy… at four different times in the day. That’s why we have our shotgun ready. So developers are REALLY after your money. Yes we understand that game design is a business. Plarium needs to make money like any other business. This is too much though.

The reason they come for your money so hard is because Raid: Shadow Legends is literally based on money. Sure the game is free but it’s clearly pay to win. We can literally say so much about this but many have huge problems with Raid: Shadow Legends and literally bashed this game… and for good reason. ‘The Gamer’ literally said on their website “Raid: Shadow Legends is absolute trash and we’re not afraid to say it”. It gets better as they then gave a paragraph explaining how essential spending real life money for success in this game is. They said, again on their website, “Are you stuck on a particularly difficult dungeon and don’t want to grind for more gear? Use your Visa! Do you need more silver to equip a new weapon, because for some reason that costs in-game currency? Break out the MasterCard! Are you dissatisfied with your rank in Arena against the teams boosted by other players and their credit cards? Then spend more money, or forever stay in the lowest ranks of “competitive” play, you filthy, poor casual”. This made us laugh but honestly this is true. Legit.

Everything revolves around money, why? Because the game is so grindy that it makes you want to speed this up. Humans don’t like waiting. Lag makes people mad, a slow computer gets on our nerves etc. Everything in the game can be sped up… with money. You can buy all the silver you want. You can buy the gems. You can buy artefacts. You can buy champions. You can buy training slots. You can buy levelling up beverages. You can buy chicken which are used to rank up your champions. You can buy anything you need. It’s literally pay to win. If you and your friend start Raid: Shadow Legends at the same time but you are regular you with your comfortable minimum wage job while studying for example but your friend has a rich uncle who spoils him. In the first day of playing this game, you who is playing naturally will get some uncommon champions maybe a rare get to maybe level 10 (we forgot how fast you level up in the start) find some artefacts none good but it’s better than nothing. Your friend because he got lots of cash from his uncle can have a full level 60 squad of champions with some legendary champions and full mastery without having to face the minotaur. We aren’t joking! You can literally do it all in a day if you have enough cash. To give you an idea of how strong a legendary champion is here’s the order: common, uncommon, rare, epic, legendary. So just think about this.

Let’s talk about this grind. Everything is a grind. Levelling up is done fastest when you repeatedly do some of the hardest campaign levels you can do over and over again. So set the speed to 2x and ‘auto’. You don’t even need to play really. This is harder because each action requires energy which you have a limited amount of daily unless you buy more with money. In order to ascend your champions you need to collect the respective potions (magic, spirit, force, void, arcane) which you get from fighting in the respective dungeons same way with campaign. To make it grindy-er these fights also cost energy and you need a combination of the potion of your champions type with arcane as arcane is needed to for all ascensions. This means more fighting. Also the dungeon types are open on different days. So for example the magic dungeon might be open on Mondays, spirit is open Tuesday, force is Wednesday you get the idea. There is lesser, greater and superior potions of each type but we will get into that later in the blog post for a serious reason. In order to get your champions mastery, you need to (you guessed it) fight again but this time against the minotaur in his dungeon. If you win you get scrolls. There’s three types of scrolls, basic, advanced and divine. The type of scrolls you can get it decided by the difficulty of the dungeon. So you can’t get red scrolls until you get real strong in the game to defeat the dungeon. Which means come back later until strong after lots of grinding to get that strong. You need 5-30 basic for the first set of masteries, 80-120 advanced for next set and 200-350 divine for the final set. If you get strong enough like we did you can face stage 15 which is a level 185 minotaur. You can win from 24-32 basic, 11-16 advanced, 6-12 divine. Hold up… it gets worse.

So quick maths to fully max out your masteries concerning the divine scrolls you need 200+350= 550. 550/12 (it’s based on chance, so you won’t get 12 all the time) = 49 rounded up. Your champion will need to do this 49 times to complete one branch and that’s not counting the basic and advanced scrolls since you go through the masteries in order, you must max out the basic first before moving to advanced before moving to divine. If we counted basic and advanced it would be 49+15=64. Notice we said ‘one branch’. You can do only two branches and both cost the same except for the second branch can’t have the final category so double it. 128-29 (the last category of the second branch) = 99. So basically 100 times. Wait, notice even earlier we said “your champion” and not your team. Every time you successfully complete a minotaur dungeon ONLY ONE champion of your team at RANDOM gets the scroll prize. So the first time you win Athel might get the 12 divine scrolls but the second time your Frostking might get the 12 scrolls and the third time might be your Coldheart. Get it yet? The developers, to increase the level of grind made it so that your whole team doesn’t get the prize but only one. So it’s 100 times per champion! So your full squad of 4 or 5 means 400-500 times of repeating the minotaur dungeon. Oh and each attempt in the dungeon at this level costs 14 energy and at profile level 54 (what we were) you only get 124 energy daily so that’s 8 (as a whole number) attempts with what you got. Yes energy slowly comes back during the day so you might fill up your energy three times in a day so lets say 24 attempts each day. That means to fully max out your team of 4 you will need 400/24=17 (16.6) days of nothing but minotaur dungeon to fully max out your squad. It gets worse! Remember that the amount of scrolls you get per win is based on chance. We said on the highest difficulty dungeon you can get between 6-12 divine scrolls. We high balled the amount in our maths to show you the shortest amount of time. If you get 8 or 9, or even 6 the it’s going to take even longer. IT GETS WORSE! When you start the game you aren’t as strong as we were, you would need to start at lower level dungeons which give lower amounts of scrolls. For example stage 8 you can get 8-12 basic and 1-3 advanced, divine isn’t available at this level. It is available at level 11 but only 1-3 divine scrolls. So it would take forever. This is the definition of grind.

We mentioned chance in the last two paragraphs but here’s where the chance gets real bad and one of Raid: Shadow Legends big problems. They don’t give enough information concerning chance. The lesser, greater and superior potions are dropped at chance. There’s even a chance you won’t get potions at all but a beverage for levelling up etc. We don’t know the chance of the drop. They say the higher difficulty of the dungeon gives a better chance for a greater and superior potion but how much more? What’s the chance. Weirdly we have received more superior and greater from lower levels instead of the higher levels. That’s weird. Even the whole artefacts are base on horrible chance. When you complete a campaign it’s all chance what you get in terms of the level of it and what stats it has. The worst is fighting the giant spider dungeon for rings, amulets and banners. Whenever you beat the spider queen thing, it’s all chance if you get a ring, banner or amulet. It’s all chance what level you get. It’s all chance what faction you get it for. So if you wanted to get a 6 star banner for Athel it becomes a nightmare you can’t control as you might get a banner but it’s the wrong level or you finally do get a level 6 banner but it’s for the orc faction so Athel can’t use it. Plus getting level 6 is harder than getting level 4 obviously. We have tried numerous times to get a specific banner or amulet and just don’t get it regardless of the number of times we tried. Remember that all the time we try to get a specific item from the spider queen we aren’t doing the minotaur, so no mastery for us. The chance gets worse in Raid: Shadow Legends. Shards is the main way to get champions. The type of shard has different chances for getting certain rarity of champions. Let’s focus on what matters here. When using an ancient shard you have a 0.5% chance of getting a legendary champion. 0.5%!! This means 1in 200. That’s like having 200 cards on a table face down and only one of those cards is the winning card. This game allows double of champions from shards so you can sacrifice to level up abilities. So after you pick a card, the whole table is shuffled with that same card back in the deck for you to pick again. Now if you use the sacred shards which is the main way to get legendary champions you have a 6% chance to get one. 6%! To give you an idea of how rare sacred shards are you only 1 every month! That’s if you do your daily and weekly quests with the monthly quest. It’s so bad that many have complained about this online. If you want more sacred shards then you have to BUY them. h and they aren’t cheap. Make sure you have a friend with a rich uncle.

So basically Raid: Shadow Legends has so much grind, the most grind we have ever seen in a game. So players get annoyed and want to speed it up. You speed it up by spending money which many are tempted to do as they keep throwing their deals and shop at you. Players buy gems because gems can be used to pretty much get anything else like full maxed out masteries. There’s a offer of £100 for 4200 gems. Do you know what we could buy with £100… not 4200 gems that’s for sure. Players use real money to everything else. The sacred shards are in packs that cost £49 and £29. The dumb part is  that the cheaper of the two has better stuff than the more expensive one. So if you want to have four attempt with sacred shards to get a legendary champion you will need to spend £116. Plus the £100 for the gems so that’s over £200. We checked online and some people have spent over £1000 on this game over time. One dude spent £2400 over 4 months. Some have spent more over time but never realised how much they put into this game. According to ‘sensor tower’ Plarium got 7 million in estimated monthly revenue as off May (check for yourself as we don’t know how reliable that information is). People need to manage their money better. Plarium will never earn a single dime from us and no we didn’t even spend over £50 over our months of playing the game.

So we won’t try to defend Raid: Shadow Legends. We abandoned Raid: Shadow Legends. If you want to advance in arena against other players you need to spend as so many people in your low ranking like silver have full squads of legendary characters all level 60 with masteries. You will never catch up to them unless you spend or play the game for two years. Too much grind, too much money hungering and too much hidden and bad chance makes Raid: Shadow Legends a terrible game. We stopped having fun and got frustrated. There are more problems like the mission objectives, unbalanced characters etc but we will stick to the grind, chances and spending. We are literally being merciful, there’s so much more to say. Now Raid: Shadow Legends has so many problems which will forever keep it away from… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire is a new open world action RPG developed by ‘The Gentlebros’ and published by ‘PQubed Limited‘. Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire is said to be coming out in the second quarter of 2019 on the Xbox One, Android, Nintendo Switch, IOS, PS4 and PC. Now if you like cats, this game might be for you. Let’s take a look.

In Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire the world os basically cats and dogs with off course more emphasis on the cats (not barking fair). There’re two kingdoms and they are at war with each other. They are: the cats of Felingard and the advancing dogs of the Lupus Empire. Why can’t cats and dogs get along? Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire tells the “tail” of two kings who have to work together in order to reclaim their thrones. This is where the player comes in. Control the cat and dog and do your best to get your thrones back. Off course it won’t be an easy journey.

Those who played the previous Cat Quest game will somewhat know what they are getting into when they enter Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire. Except this time there will be more battles, more explosions and more magic to make you into a fur-midable enemy. Cat Quest but basically bigger and expanded upon. There is a wider range of attacks and weapons too. Some of the new weapon types include staves and even master swords. Obviously master swords are better.

Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire allows two player co-op. Someone controls the dog while the other controls the cat. Readers should hopefully by now know how we feel about co-op in games. Players should have the option of playing with friends and others in local co-op. Good move developers. Even more good since there are dungeons to dive into explore. Your team mate can help watch your back as there are traps in there. Challenges and problems are easier to solve with others.

Like with other RPGs players need to get tactical and quite creative. Players should make combos concerning their abilities, weapons and more. For example the attributes of the passive abilities allow for  quite a bit of options. There’s more to this game than just simply hitting attack all the time. Get the right timing for dodges and evade all damage, know what types of enemies you are facing and what’s the best way to put them down.

There are side quests too in Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire. What RPG doesn’t have side quests? They aren’t suppose to be just missions to pass the time. Each one is said to have it’s own story which off course will help explain what’s going on in the Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire universe. The lore will be expanded and probably hear some interesting stuff.

We checked out some gameplay and it’s not what we thought. How you move around on the map is very cool. You are literally running from area to area, walking around ponds, seas and seeing all the world structures too. Also enemies will just run up to you too and try to “axe” you a question. Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire has actually gave us a bit of a surprise. Not bad. From what we have seen, the graphics look very good and the sounds are good too. Clearly good work has went into this game.

Overall Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire seems like a very good game so far. From the smoothness of the gameplay to how expanded it is. There’s quite a bit going on in this game and we like what we see but the game does seem to easy in terms of combat and difficulty. It looks so easy to evade and handle enemies and we hope there are more enemies and greater difficulty. The developers ‘The Gentlebros’ have done a good job with this game. Now Cat Quest II – The Lupus Empire may have some serious cats and dogs but none are as serious as… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Battle Breakers is a new tactical RPG being developed by ‘EpicGames’ for IOS, PC and Android. It will come out later this year we have heard but it’s already been released in Australia according to the official battle Breakers website.

We do not have a lot of information on this game but it straight away reminds us of Clash of heroes Might and magic. This game is about being tactical with your units and what they can do. For example don’t just attack and make actions without thinking as your units will be on cool down after attacks. Some are on cool down for 5 turns. Every character and even enemies are of a certain element like fire, water etc. So some are strong against others dealing 50% more damage. Corrupted crystals must be broken which cleanses the land and releases whatever was in that crystal. Breaking them in a row will earn you extra points.

We have been told that Battle breakers will feature hundreds of recruitable heroes including robots, ninjas, dinosaurs and knights. This game is also cross-platform play between mobile devices and PCs. The invading monsters are going to put up a serious fight so build and upgrade the ancient Sky Tower fortress which will reinforce and improve your defenses. Your heroes can use the power of tsunamis, earthquakes, firestorms and more.

It is still in development but you can pre-register right now and you will get the bonus in-game content: Dark beastman character.

Overall, after checking out some gameplay we can say that Battle breakers seems alright. It’s definitely tactical in how you handle the battles, deciding what to do with each character and off course timing. The graphics are alright while the music is very good. It isn’t our kind of thing but we at X35 Earthwalker will still check it out. This game might be worth checking out.
