Twelve Minutes is one of those rare games. It’s not our thing but we enjoyed it. It’s definitely a good game and it’s way deeper than players will originally think. It’s one of those games we do recommend players try, especially if you are on Xbox and got the gamepass where you can download this game for free and have a good time time… or maybe a frustrating time. Here’s our quick review.

Twelve Minutes is described as a “top down point-and-click adventure game”. Now if you know anything about Twelve Minutes then you know that you control a dude who is trapped in a time loop.  You have a wife who gets accused of murdering her father 8 years ago by a cop (doesn’t look like a cop to us) who then arrested you both and you get killed. Sounds like a happy story. Players need to break the time lop and find out what’s going on.

X35 Earthwalker Twelve Minutes Review

Very simple premise. Nothing new or ground breaking but Twelve Minutes did a good job of it. The only thing that got our attention from the trailer was the mystery of the story. It was the “what’s going on here” factor. You enter the game and get use to the point and click. You knowing that you have twelve minutes you move around the area looking at pictures on walls, checking doors but quickly learn the time has started yet. Once you get into your apartment that’s when the clock is visibly shown to start. Players have mixed reactions. You know you only have 12 minutes. Some like X35 Earthwalker himself straight away went around looking in every room for anything and everything, picking up every item and analysing. Some just stayed more still and see what is going on. We liked how the game forced players to decide quickly what they are going to do. The plot twist or plot surprise wasn’t all that hard to figure out. It was clear the wife was hiding something and lying. It was clear the ‘cop’ for the most part knew what he was talking about but off course you aren’t going to trust a willing to murder you stranger over your wife. X35 Earthwalker figured it out before the reveal. We did enjoy how the story got deeper and deeper.

The next thing we liked about Twelve Minutes is how deep the interactions in the game is, especially with objects. There’s a cup, you can pick it up, go to a sink you can fill it up. You can then drink it or maybe give it to someone else to drink… but what does that do? Nothing. You find a plant in the bedroom and get the idea of watering it. Turns out you can water the plant. That’s a nice little thing to do but why? If you pay attention and play through the game you will notice that the plant can wither away and lose all leaves or become lush and full of life. In the bathroom you can find sleeping pills. You can put the sleeping pills in the cup of water. You can give it to your wife for whatever reason or maybe try to give to the ‘cop’. Hey, arresting people can be thirsty work. The same spare key you used to get into the apartment can be used to open a vent cover. That fake candle on the table can be used to light up small dark areas… maybe there’s something you need to find. This stuff gets players coming up with ideas and possibilities. Making some players over think things too. Yes Twelve Minutes requires players to have some IQ to beat this game but what’s also needed is patience. Twelve minutes can be described as a trial and error puzzle game. You can get through it, get it wrong and try again while changing just one thing and find what works eventually. This trial and error is backed up by how things have to be done in a certain order. For example if you call the daughter to have her ask her dad to listen and he shows up but YOU are the one holding the picture the you still fail. If you have to do it all over again but make sure your wife holds the picture instead. Doing one step before the other or selecting one option or whatever will ruin the whole thing. Another example would be if you decide to work with the ‘cop’ and do what he says. If you took his equipment then he will attack you, even if you have what he wants. So you have to do it all over again but don’t touch his stuff.

Now let’s go over what we don’t like. How unrealistic it is. There’s options or things you would do but you can’t. Back to the holding the photo scenario. The wife wants to show the photo but you’re the one holding it. Any normal person would hand the photo to the wife but in Twelve minutes you can’t do that. You try to show the photo, you get your nose punched. How stupid is that. When your character learns the truth. Knows about the watch, knows about the wife’s father and her involvement but when he confronts her with clear pin point information, she still acts like he doesn’t know what he’s talking about. If he said “I know you have a pocket watch”, you can get around that but when he gives accurate information like “I know you have a watch, it’s in the ventilation under the medicine cabinet et in the bathroom” that’s too specific. Yet she tries to act like you’re the crazy one who doesn’t know what you’re talking about and that’s so stupid. He clearly knows! On top of that the dude doesn’t even press her and get aggressive. Like don’t play me for a fool. He just accepts it. Getting all the achievements for this game is stupid as well. Especially when it comes to getting the pictures on the wall achievements and looking at them at different phases and loops. Felt more like a waste of time and at times didn’t Gove you the achievement even when you did it right. There next thing is how telegraphed our character swings with a knife. Giving more than enough time to block or evade like the ‘cop’ does. When you have a knife you can’t do big moves like that. Straight line strikes please at least.

Speaking about the knife, here is our number one most hated thing about Twelve Minutes. It’s an actual fail that breaks and ruined the whole premise of their game which is the time loop. Hear us out. When you try to fight the ‘cop’ with a knife. You do the telegraphed knife attack, get blocked and then knocked down. Okay we get that. The ‘cop’ is a better fighter. So X35 Earthwalker had a brilliant IQ idea. It’s a time loop. It resets for you, keeping your memory and everyone else doesn’t detect anything. Those previous loops never happened for them. This means the ‘cop’ has never fought you before. Yet you remember the fight. So what X35 thought was that if we fight him again we will know his moves and counter them perfectly. This actually worked which made us praise the game for this awesome mechanic. Our character learns! So when we fought him again, he moved his blocked hand and got a stab in. You then get combo-ed and lose. We fought him again and this time dodged the attack after we stabbed him, but then got head butted. Next attempt we moved our head pulled out the knife and got shot in a quick draw. We attempted some more and there’s a series of moves. It looked like maybe the next attempt would work but then the game does something real stupid. When you go to fight him again, instead of us leading with the telegraphed swing, he does an instant right hook to knock you out. That breaks the laws of time loop. The ‘cop’ can’t change his actions as according to him, this is the first time he is facing our character. He doesn’t know about the 8 different times we attacked him and fought. He doesn’t know we are learning his moves. So like the wife saying the same thing every single time, he should the same moves every single time. This really made us annoyed and dislike Twelve Minutes for a while. We actually thought we were on to something. Instead the game wasted our time and took away an opportunity to reward players for persistence and thinking outside the box. This whole game was about thinking and using your head to dove things through the fact that you are in the time loop and your knowledge from previous loops. They took this victory away from us for no good reason. How stupid is that. The game doesn’t want us to kill the ‘cop’ like that but why does that matter since you can kill him in another. You can still kill him. Whatever. Even CoryxKenshin felt the same way in one of his latest videos. Watch from 15:20 to 17:55.

Overall Twelve Minutes is a very good game. It’s nothing too serious. It’s not a long game. It has mystery, deep mechanics but it’s fun, can get frustrating but that’s the style of the game. When you solve something, you realise you was close but missing something so simple and at times small. It’s available off course on the Xbox game pass too, so it’s easy to get regardless. It’s a cool experience and many big content creators have gave this game a try… because it’s trending and they want views but that’s besides the point. We enjoyed Twelve Minutes. Now Twelve Minutes might have a time loop but not even time loops effect… the ‘Earth Walk!’

X35 Earthwalker Second Extinction

Second Extinction is, in case you didn’t know, a co-op action first person shooter where players face off against dangerous mutated dinosaurs. Currently we are really enjoying the game. Haven’t played for long though. X35 Earthwalker has made a gameplay video and done one livestream on Second Extinction. Even so we have some good feedback already for the developers Systemic Reaction. So listen up. Let’s take a look.

We will say it again Second Extinction is an awesome game and we are having lots of fun. We won’t talk about any bugs and performance issues since Second Extinction is in a preview state and not a fully polished built state. They give you a clear warning as you start up the game. They even warned the game might crash. It did. Twice. The first crash happened right when we were about to complete a mission. At the extraction and the ship arrived but it crashed. Worst place to crash ever. The game did warn us that could happen so yeah, we weren’t mad but not happy at all. So on to actual feedback.

X35 Earthwalker Second Extinction

The Black box optionals missions are bad, especially since you don’t know what to do. Our first two attempts at a black box mission were fails. We called in the scanner and it pointed in a direction for us to explore but we weren’t sure were though. We went in the pointed direction and found nothing. We tried to call in another scanner but you can’t outside the range of the crash site. We thought maybe the black box it’s in range of the crash site. It’s not there. Only during the livestream where we didn’t care about the black box we found it by accident. The laser points in a direction and it’s somewhere far in that direction but what we didn’t know is that what we need to look for is another broken part of the ship like an engine. It’s right there. We found it by accident but now we know what we are looking for. Maybe an extra clue would help first timers.

We advise that the mini gun gets renamed to chain gun instead as it’s just not powerful enough to be a mini gun. Mini guns lay to waste everything in front of it. Mini guns are over the top powerful. This so called mini gun feels far weaker. It’s rated as less damage than an assault rifle. No assault rifle is stronger than a mini gun. So change the name please and don’t insult mini guns. The most annoying enemy in second Extinction, those ankylosaurus (flat backs) can all go straight to… a unpleasant place. When they do their rolling spinning attack, it’s level of tracking is not consistent. At times it’s pretty much undodgable while a few times it’s like it doesn’t track at all-ish. For the most time it can be dodged well but try to make it more consistent if possible.

Rosy is currently our favourite character both in terms of design and ability. Her electric fence ability is great. Issues with it are that it’s range is a bit too small. Fences should be able to be set a bit farther apart. Also dinosaurs that jump through it should still be effected. Those annoying electric ones love to jumping lunge attack which lets them go through the fence for free. Maybe they still take damage but we want more of an effect. Also those electric raptors love to dodge your shots. The problem is that they are even dodging ‘mini gun’ fire. There’s too many bullets. We are seeing them take no damage at times even though shots clearly go through it’s body. You can’t dodge ‘mini gun’ bullets.

The very last thing we want to bring up for now would be the lack of split screen co-op. Second Extinction is a co-op game but don’t have full co-op options. Sure we can invite other players and even search for random players but you can’t play with friends and family from home. There’s no split screen local co-op. This instantly eliminates some people we want to play with. Getting a local split screen would make this game more accessible and bring more players for sure. So these are just some feedback we have already. We hope the Second Extinction developers ‘systemic reaction’ listen and make their game even better. There’s work to be done. Now Second Extinction may be great already but it’s far from being perfect as… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Gears 5 is here again and this time they have something new with Operation 6. This means new characters: Colonel Victor Hoffman, Queen Reyna and locust Zealot. It also comes with a new… well not new a map from the past called Speyer. We are overall disappointed with it. Like that’s all. That’s not going to bring in new players or change anything really. We like new characters though. Just stop messing around and give us Aaron Griffin!!!! The Coalition need to step it up.

Now this isn’t about about Operation 6. We always did like Hoffman and locust Zealot does look real cool. Don’t like how Queen Reyna looks though but hey. Tis is about horde and some issues it has. Even the new event which came with Operation 6 called ‘Escape from Kadar’. So lets’ get right into it. Horde overall is our favourite thing in Gears 5. We have survived hundreds of waves solo (with random players) and in a team. We have beaten inconceivable difficulty many times, even in Escape mode. So yes we are more than authoritative and relatable as a source of information.

Horde needs an additional resource for players. Players use their collected energy to power up themselves with passives like increased health, ammo regeneration, critical damage etc. This is very good and cool but then this means players aren’t donated their enemy to the fabricator for the mechanics t build strong defences. After all you need to be powerful to survive so you priorities yourself first instead of the team. They need to make it so that collecting energy contributes to both a energy and maybe boost points or experience points which you can use for upgrading yourself and the energy for fabricator or building. So yeah, they need a second resource management bar.

Now let’s talk about one big problem, actually scratch that – two! Two big problems with one literally being bigger. Firstly the Swarmak. This big good for nothing son of a pharaoh results in an instant loss. It’s presence means you lose. It spawns in and just heads straight for your base. It doesn’t take it’s time. If you aren’t under shelter or up in a really high place where the boltok spawns in Gridlock then you are screwed. Fences don’t stop it, sentry don’t stop it. Nothing stops it! We hit it with the demolitionists ultimate ability, had brawlers set it on fire and even a whole team attack it and it doesn’t die in time. Sure there can be exceptions like two demolitionists using their ultimates and then lancer grenade launch missiles spam with boom shots maybe but then another spawns to take it’s place which is stupid design. Why another? You out of resources by then. Regardless even if the whole team faced the swarmak, the whole horde are still coming for you including pouncers who jump right into your base, scions with heavy weapons and more. The Coalition got the formula right in Gears 4. The Brumak would sit back and fire it’s guns and missiles from a distance then after while it then makes it’s approach. It’s like it either waits until you almost killed all enemies or after a certain period of time. Do that developers instead of have the swarmak comes straight for our base and destroy everything. It’s better for the team to run straight at the swarmak and get themselves killed to so when they start again they get a different boss and keep all their fortifications alive, saving energy.

The Guardians and Sentinels are huge problem and simply put have no business in Horde. These guys are fast, deal immense damage and worst of all have large amounts of health then on top of that… they have shields. Cool design but shouldn’t be in horde. Imagine this. You have a nice base with great defence and sentries. Wave starts. A Sentinel shows up and heads straight for your base. It flies OVER all your defences and parks itself right in the back of your base while spraying it’s Tri-gun (which is like the strongest weapon in the game) killing everyone. If you are allow health class like demolition, marksman, mechanic etc you go down within half a second on inconceivable difficulty. We have seen it wipe out a whole team before. It doesn’t care about defences as it flies over. It’s so strong that you aren’t beating it 1v1 unless you are a Gunner class or maybe Pilot in your silver back. The shields get stronger in later waves too for some reason. You manage to get it’s shield down bu then it flies away behind cover out of reach so you can’t get it. Then comes back with it’s shield again. Wasting your ammo and time. So you need a team to face it which means less or no one is focusing on the horde coming to you since you are either fighting or reviving downed teammates. It can also straight up kill a downed person too which is unfair. Guardians are worse as they have salvo rockets which can down groups at the same time even when trying to revive. They can truly ruin a good run. Shriekers from Gears of War 3 were fine because they had really low heath but if ignored can really weaken your team as they fire from high up meaning cover is useless. Remove sentinels and guardians.

Now for the main reason that Escape from Kadar sucks. This big woman above this paragraph. The Matriarch is the alpha woman. Body building ladies don’t mess with her. All jokes aside she does rule. She doesn’t give a shake about your fortifications. Actually she doesn’t even acknowledge them or know what they are. She just walks through them and wonders what she hit (she doesn’t seem blind like beserkers). In Escape from Kadar you have loads of locust hybrids which come at you with pipes which delivery a one shot kill strike. Unless you have really high armour or good stim etc. Then you have Sires which rush you down and try to grab you. If they grab you, it doesn’t matter how much health you have as it’s instant kill if you don get freed from it’s grip. Those aren’t too bad but then the boss on wave 5 is a Matriarch which isn’t too bad but she does destroy all your fortifications. St wave 10 there’s TWO of them though at the same time. Unless you are a very specific build of classes you can’t stop them in time. It’s like Attack on Titan. The Matriarch is the armoured titan who smashed a hole through the wall and so the locust hybrid and sires can come straight in. Imagine fighting the sires and pipe swingers while dodging the big women who are trying to kill you. Also she can grab you and rip you apart even in the middle of your chainsaw execution! You be saying something she be like “wat chu doin likkle one” Then rip. We be like you can’t do that, it’s na execution. She be like “I make the rules”. So cheap indeed. We did beat them though. X35 Earthwalker being the universe ultimate strategist came up with a plan and it worked so well that we actually made it so easy. Inconceivable difficulty next. The Swarmak is the colossal titan and the matriarch is the armoured titan. Most teams can’t beat Escape from Kadar, even in advanced difficulty. It’s super tough unless you find that good formula.

Overall it’s clear that horde has some problems. Swarmak needs to be reprogrammed, Two matriarchs should be just one instead and less amount of enemies on later waves , guardians and sentinels need to be removed. AAn additional resource needs to be added for personal upgrades instead of the energy. This is us keeping it simple though. We aren’t going to go into every little detail. Horde needs to be improved. Maybe we will talk about the classes more next time. Now Gears 5 has horde problems but it’s problems are clearly seen by… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Hyperdot is a simple action arcade game developed by ‘Tribe Games‘ and published by ‘Glitch games‘. Due to an amazing change in circumstances, G-blogs will be shorter as we have less time. Hyperdot is a game we started playing quite a bit and we had lots of fun with it and some annoying times. So here’s a quick review. Let’s take a look.

Hyperdot is as simple as it gets in terms of controls, which is move with the control stick, and even concept, which is don’t touch anything. We aren’t joking. Just love around and do not touch anything. That’s Hyperdot at it’s base level. You control a circle and you move around within another large circle stage where enemies which are shapes are spawned in and are moving. Avoid them all and survive long enough to pass the level. Now in the campaign of Hyperdot this is what you will face and some variations. Time to dive in the details more.

Now the primary levels in Hyperdot are just survive but you’ll encounter other levels like collect tokens or staying in a designated zone for a period of time. Now this all sounds simple but remember the enemies. There’s multiple. The most common and simple are squares which just travel in a straight line from where it’s released. The pentagons are just like squares except where they are released they will travel in a straight line in YOUR direction. So they are aimed at you. Triangles are annoying as they just aim for you and follow you around for a period of time. Stars also come after you but instead of continuous movement they move in a straight line then stop, then move, then stop, then move and then stop until they decide to leave the stage. Last is a cross or plus sign which comes in then stops, spins and then breaks to release 4 small pieces in the direction where the ends of the cross is pointing. Simple enemies.

Simple, controls, simple enemies and simple concept and level rules. So what’s difficult about Hyperdot? It’s how they work together. You could have a level in a large circle and the objective is collecting tokens but squares are coming in ripe fire where you can’t pass until an opening is available but then pentagons are being launched at you while triangles are then sent after you and you have to dodge them all while in a confined space. Each of the levels in the campaign are different. Some an be beat in ma y different ways. A few have a straight pattern for you to master. Hyperdot does get really difficult at times. The much later levels of the campaign get ridiculous. A very few felt like chance was a factor alongside skill. It can get merciless. Playing Among Us is for babies as anyone can do that… but Hyperdot is for those gamers with some IQ, some intelligence some, real skill. Most can’t beat the campaign. challenge the streamers you watch to that. By the way, come watch the best gaming action on our channel

Even more, Hyperdot has got some extra stuff. For starters there’s level editor mode where you can create your ow levels. They can be played by others or yourself for fun. You can edit how much enemies spawn in, how fast they are, what objective for the level, if survival then how long to survive for, the background, colours: primary, secondary and tertiary etc. There’s lots to work with for how small and simple this game is. On top of that, Hyperdot has the best hit detection we have sen in gaming from our experience. It’s sooooooooooo precise. When you touch something, you are annoyed by it but you accept it as you now you got touched. Only once did we lose but we didn’t think it touched us. That only happened once though. If w got a reply then maybe we will be convinced.

There’s multiplayer so you can try to out survive your friends. Build levels for each other. Work together collecting tokens etc. There’s even bonus levels and even if you have done the campaign (you most likely cheated you scrub) then you can face the impossible levels. There’s going to be lots of stuff to do. You can even select which theme colour you want and if you beat multiple levels of the campaign you can unlock even the enemy colours; which is the colour of the enemies like squares and stars.

Overall, Hyperdot is awesome. It has everything for what it is. There’s lots of modes, end game content, build your own levels, multiplayer, great graphics, great music, excellent hit detection, very challenging, customisation, variety of enemies, basically everything. It’s also totally fun. Some frustrating moments for sure but still fun. Some levels aren’t truly hard, just had to execute what they wanted you to do, perfectly and vice versa where execution isn’t as important but felt more like chance due to the high difficulty. Hyperdot is available on the Xbox game pass so why not get it and see how far you get. We at X35 Earthwalker would rate Hyperdot 10/10 for what it is. A simple game that does everything right. Now Hyperdot may have done everything right but it’s still wrong when compared to the standards of… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Last of us 2 is an action adventure game that was developed by ‘Naughty Dog‘ and published by ‘SIEE’. There is a lot to say about this game. First of all we think it’s a very good game. The only reason we are writing about Last of us 2 is because of the many mistakes and huge misunderstandings from gamers and even those streamers and youtubers. Let’s take a look.

Let’s dive into what we liked about the Last of us 2. Firstly off course the game looks fantastic and that’s true especially with the first, the details, wind effects etc but it’s what gamers at this pint expect from all modern games now. The next gen games, especially with the Xbox Series X and PS5 should have awesome graphics regardless. So it’s nothing special but it’s still a point for Last of us 2. Next point is the details in animations and movement. They are excellent. When you are upgrading or modifying your guns on the table the guns have specific animations. Your character actually moves things around, cleans this, attaches this etc. That’s very good. Also what’s impressive is the fact that if you taut your bow while prone and rotate, your character actually moves how a real person with a bow would have to. From being on your belly to getting on your back etc. That’s very good.

The action in Last of us 2 is very good also. We have good stuff to say for sure. The hand to hand combat is reaction based and not spam the attack button. You have to pick your moments as in when to strike and when to dodge and time the dodge accurately. Skill is needed. The battle Abby had against the big woman with the hammer/spike weapon. It actually felt like a Lords of the fallen or dark souls boss sort of. She was larger and stronger and can kill you in like three swings. You had to time your dodges and attack carefully. That was cool. Now probably the best scene in the game was where Abby had to follow Yara with Lily (lev) in a dark forest with only the torch to provide light while the enemies are running around you picking when to attack like in a stereotypical shark movie. The lighting, the setting was excellent. Majority of the reactions we saw of players at that moment was they found it intense. Quickly one more thing. The battle between Abby and Ellie in the theatre was what Halo 5 Guardians needed which was an in game Master chief vs locke. Now let’s get to the main problem.

So many people hated and reviewed this game for childish reasons. Number 1 being that Joel is dead so let’s be babies, cry and hate the game. Number 2 being that you play as Abby, the one who killed Joel so people complained and whined through all the time playing as her. Number 3 being that Ellie didn’t get her revenge. There’s a few others but that’s the main bullet points really, be honest. Now listen to what we say. You won’t like us for this but we are always honest. Joel is the bad guy and did a lot of really bad stuff. Think about it, you really think someone can do all that messed up stuff, walk away and live a comfortable happy life and with no consequences? Seriously. Joel killed a bunch of people, most were innocent for one girl, DENIED HUMANITY A CURE, and lied to that same girl for a long time. So Joel kills, doesn’t care about humanity, selfish and lies to that one person he really really cares about. He also didn’t give Ellie a choice as to whether she wanted to go through with the surgery or not. That’s not a good guy. It’s like Ellie said, he screwed over a lot of people so there would be a lot of people who would want him dead. Then someone does get him and kills him for what HE has done. As the Bible says you reap what you sow. No one avoids that. Not even Joel.

Now yes the doctors and should have been upfront with Joel and Ellie about the whole thing. The doctor probably thought that when they know that Ellie will die, they will be like nope, not happening which was true for Joel but funny enough, not Ellie. You must be honest. X35 himself hates lies. If they were honest from the start Ellie would have agreed and there would be a cure. Also, Joel didn’t give Ellie that choice either. Joel did to Ellie what the doctors did to him. Again, they are no better. Some say that Joel doesn’t owe humanity anything and doesn’t have to let Ellie die and get a cure. That’s true but lame reasoning. This is why real life world has many problems. Many people don’t do good things out of the kindness of their hearts. Many are selfish. it’s about what they get out of it, or I do’t owe you anything or I don’t like them etc etc. Don’t mean to make this spiritual but look up what Agape love is. It’s greek. Basically it’s the love of God where you do good to someone not because they deserve it but because you have a good nature or you are good (simplifying it). Like giving to someone knowing they won’t be able to repay you. Forgiving someone who doesn’t deserve it. So overall Joel from multiple angles is the bad guy here, not a good man and people over look all that because they like him as they played as him and know him from the first game last of us. So no, we don’t have sympathy for Joel and he did in fact get what he deserved. Justice. How is there any justice in a apocalypse. Speak for yourself. When the world goes to crap not everyone becomes a moral-less person here you do whatever and whatever. many people will hold on to their Morales, right and wrong, their beliefs and still believe in helping others. So yes justice still applies, as there are people who would still believe in it. This links into the main point.

The issue of Abby. The most hated character in Last of us 2, really. Now we understand Abby. We know why she did what she did and overall we are on her side way more than Ellie’s side. Let us explain. People need to put themselves in Abby’s shoes. Remember that we mentioned justice. Now you have a home, safe, good community, about helping humanity. You come back and find out that some guy rolled up to your place, killed so many people, compromised the compound and killed your family. The person who did that you find is living a good life in a big town with electricity with their family and seen as a good guy. You telling us that if you found this as in he is right in front of you, you wouldn’t do anything? You wouldn’t want revenge? Don’t be silly. Most people online honestly admitted they would have done the same thing but childish people like angry joe don’t factor any of this just continue to complain and hate Abby and use that as an excuse to lower their scoring of the game. Joel dying to the people he wronged is justice. What Abby did is way more just than Ellie. When Abby killed Joel she let Tommy and Ellie go which was unwise but just. Just, because they had nothing to do with what Joel did which was Abby and Owens reasoning. They were innocent so they don’t deserve to die. This decision was also unwise because these two people can come after you, which they did. Like what Penguin said to Batman in the Telltale. Batman said he doesn’t kill and Penguin responded with “and that’s why you have so many enemies”. This applies here too. By them not killing Tommy and Ellie, they allowed the opportunity for them to come and get revenge. So Abby got punished for doing the right thing (sometimes it’s like this in real life). What’s worse is that Ellie and Tommy were spared and still went after them and killed Abby’s friends. Ellie, you do know that they could have and should have killed you and if they did, you wouldn’t be able to have any revenge whatsoever.

People complained that Ellie was portrayed as the bag guy in Last of us 2. When she is the bad guy. She was spared when should have been dead and goes on a blind revenge journey. During this journey she kills a whole bunch of people, even the people who were part of the group but didn’t kill Joel. She also killed a pregnant lady as well. All to get at ONE person. What’s just about that? Abby’s group came for Joel, found Joel and ONLY killed Joel who is a bad guy. The guy who killed Abby’s dad, who was the only guy who could make the cure. Ellie got mad at Joel for lying to her but she also lies to others like the big dude who agreed to give Ellie information on where Abby was if Ellie doesn’t kill him. She got the information and killed him anyway. Hypocrite. If only Abby killed you any Ellie… if only. Ellie also begged Abby not to kill Dina who was pregnant even though she already killed Mel who was pregnant. It was real big of Abby to actually let Dina live even after learning that Ellie killed Mel who was her pregnant friend. Notice that Abby was capable and did show more compassion to others than Ellie. This was shown with Yara and Lily. Even after Abby let Ellie live a second time, Ellie still want to get her and went after her. This is so stupid. Abby let you live TWICE. TWICE. Practically no one would do that. She should have killed her then but Abby did the only thing that can break a cycle of revenge… forgiveness. Or in this case, letting it go. There is a lot about Ellie we don’t like. Now the developers clearly wanted everyone to understand and side with Abby. This whole game is showing the what revenge will do to you and how ugly it is and makes you. Even the Playstation official website said, “Experience the escalating moral conflicts created by Ellie’s relentless pursuit of vengeance. The cycle of violence left in her wake will challenge your notions of right versus wrong, good versus evil and hero versus villain.” The goal was obvious. They spelt it out. It makes players wonder who the real villain is, how Ellie has gone too far and lost all morality. Last of us 2 wants to challenge players notions of right and wrong. Hopefully be honest about all this. It’s not about your feelings or whether you like Abby. It’s the facts and what they did.

Remember this isn’t a full review of Last of us, we mainly wanted to discuss the issue gamers had concerning Abby mainly while giving some good points about the game. So we won’t talk about a number of things. We put that idea of Gold glove in above he was one of the people who understood Abby’s side and her reasons. The flash backs and the order you play things in isn’t bad at all. We kept track of everything easily. It wasn’t complex or all over the place to us. It was simple. Present time, then fast forward, then flash back for memories, present, then in the past for Abby’s perspective, a flash back of her memories, back to the past of her perspective then to the present. Just summarising but it’e easy to understand. Now Last of Us 2 is an excellent game. It did what it set out to do successfully. Think about how many gamers got emotional, was moved and even got triggered. It’s suppose to be a journey. The playstation website said “Confront the devastating physical and emotional repercussions of Ellie’s actions”. It did this. She became the bad guy, the hypocrite etc. Not only that but we saw the consequences of her actions… she basically lost everything. Dina left her, Tommy is broken, Jesse is dead. All of that was preventable. She didn’t even get her revenge. Abby didn’t’t die. This means all that was for nothing. It was also a lesson for the players. Revenge, its consequences, loss, morality, emotions, understanding people, seeing things from a different perspective and a bit of forgiveness etc. Remember that Ellie who you aren’t mad at did what Abby did so if you aren’t mad at Ellie then don’t be mad at Abby. So stop letting your feelings get in the way and judge the game for what is is and not that Joel died. There’s so much we wanted to say but this post is long already.

So overall from what we have seen, Last of us 2 an excellent game. A journey for sure, prompts lots of thinking and relating. Not really suppose to be played twice. These cry baby you tubers like angry Joe need to grow up and do a better job at reviewing games. The developers Naughty Dog did an excellent job.

More information

Digimon World is a role playing adventure game developed and published by ‘Bandai Namco‘. It came out 1999 on the PlayStation 1. If you mention this game, a good number of people would know this game. Digimon World is a serious game that clearly wasn’t developed for children even though it said 3 and over on the game case. Why? It’s definitely one of  the most difficult and cryptic games. Let’s take a look.

Let’s start of by saying we really like this game and spent many hours back in the day playing it. It’s fun and brings back memories. Doesn’t change the fact that it’s cryptic and difficult. The story of Digimon World is… well they don’t really tell you much. Let’s be honest, who was playing this game when they were a child and knew what was going on? What you do get told is that the island is in danger, Digimon have lost their memory and that you have been pulled into the Digimon world by Jijimon to help. So you must go around and bring Digimon back to the city, File city. That’s it. Get to it. We don’t know who the villain is and you won’t find out more information until way, way later in the game. So even the story is sort of cryptic.

You start off with either a Argumon or Gabumon depending on whether you selected day or night as a preference. You have an empty backpack and your one Digimon. What we will say is that Digimon World was ahead of it’s time. It basically was open world. You can literally go almost any in the game from the start of the game. You could reach the dino region, grand canyon area, the beach and more bit once you get over a special bring in the canyon you can truly access almost everywhere. What you do end up doing is going to the gym next door. This gym is the place you’ll  spend most of your time really and is the most essential place as it’s here where you can train your Digimon. Your Digimon like enemy Digimon have stats: HP, MP, offense, defense, speed, brain. It’s quite obvious what these stats do, except for defense. Does defense determine how likely your digimon will block attacks or reduce damage from enemy attacks? That was never explained. Each time you do a training your Digimon’s respective stat will go up by a set amount and will cost you 1 hour of in-game time. We remember spending all day in the gym just boosting our stats to get a strong Digimon. Eventually when enough time passes your rookie digimon will digivolve into a champion. Yes there are five classes: baby, in training, rookie, champion and ultimate. sSo simply, train, digivolve be strong enough to explore the island, find digimon to bring back to the city and win your battles. Now let’s get to the complex stuff.

The most complex thing is the digivolution and the mechanics surrounding it. You get a few clues but ultimately you don’t know what to do. Numerous gamers have admitted that they didn’t know what to do either. In the official booklet you get some information on how to get argument to merman, monochromon and greymon but that information doesn’t feel accurate at all as we tried but never got a greymon. You always get a champion digmon but not always an ultimate digimon. Ee remember seeing our champion digimon die and fade away so many times and not know why. They were healthy, no virus, good stats and little to no care mistakes. Turns out the other factors are number of battles and your digimon’s weight. How are kids suppose to know and get strategic with all this information. For example to get let’s say Megadramon, you firstly need all your stats to be high, battle many times we think 15 times minimum (again not sure) weight must be around 50-55. Some digmon is said to require care mistakes. This doesn’t make sense since the whole game trains you to avoid making care mistakes but you’re suppose to know to have a few for certain digimon. Not fair. Even when you met the criteria for an ultimate (well you think you do) at times your digimon still just fades away. You don’t even get to know why. Just try again and hit the gym. Now that X35 Earthwalker is older he has gotten ultimates far more consistently like 3/5 times but that’s because of additional information and what we learnt online which wasn’t really a thing back then.

Another complicated thing is why does your champion sometimes digivolve into Numemon. Now yes we know you can get him with care mistakes but we remember times when we didn’t get care mistakes but still got him. Maybe we are mistaken since that was years ago. Numemon is disgusting, weak, gains less from training and everyone hates it and doesn’t want it. It serves no purpose… or does it? We know there’s a suit that if you bring Numemon to, he and only he can slip into it, instantly becoming an ultimate digimon with some serious power and you need that digimon to enter the toy mansion. So even trash has it’s use and this trash digimon has a completing game essential use but what kid would know to do that? You avoid getting numemon. Numemon can become Sukamon who is also trash poop digimon and even shaped like poop. It’s also weak but get this. Sukamon can become etemon only if it has high stats like 400 offense and speed. It also must have a weight within 10-20 and battled more than 40 times. Remember that sukamon is naturally very weak and has a lame starting move, so naturally players avoided fighting with him as he struggles badly. How is a kid suppose to figure the out and know to battle with it 40 TIMES! In defence of the two trash digimon, if you get their stats high and give it certain filth techniques like quick poop throw and the giant poop technique, they can actually be quite tough and fast enough to interrupt the attacks of stronger digimon. Remember that. They are trash but aren’t complete trash.

Next is the techniques. You start off with either ‘spit fire’ for Argumon or ‘sonic jab’ for gabumon. Both honestly good moves. The game does tell you that you can learn new moves through training the brain and battling but that’s it. When raising the Digimon brain stat, you have a small chance of learning a move when you pass 50. For example when you raise your brain to pass 150, 250, 350, 450, 550 etc, there is a SMALL chance you’ll learn a random move that your digimon can perform. It’s basically random, you may not learn anything at all from 0-950. The easier way to learn is to battle. This also isn’t explained. We don’t exactly know what determines if you learn the move or not. It’s random really. Do you learn the move when you get hit by the attack, block the attack or they just do it, do it a certain number of times it’s not clear nor explained. We have had matches were we successfully block a move three times or more and still not get a move. Twice we learnt a move from the enemy even though that enemy never got to do the move. They just about started the process or animation for the smallest fraction of second but got hit. Literally, Tyrannomon learnt red inferno and Leomon learnt war cry first time even though the enemy never got to do the move. We didn’t even know they did the move during the match we just saw “red inferno learnt” at the end and was like “wait what? How? Oh well we’ll take it”. We once with Leomon first and then carried over with Andromon faced the ice ogremon in freehand near the top where there’s three of them many many times in a row to learn the move buster dive. We faced them individually over 20 times! We got hit by buster dive countless times, blocked it many times and still didn’t learn it. We eventually did but took forever. So look at this, it took us over 20 battles and getting hit numerous times to learn buster dive but learnt red inferno and war cry instantly, first try even though the enemy didn’t get to do the move once.

Next is how you get certain digimon to join the city. This is probably the most cryptic for sure. Don’t listen to those who lie online saying they beat Digimon World when they were 8 or 9 etc. They are being stupid and lying. Some of these digmon are cryptic. You have some like Pixiemon, mamemon and metalmamemon who only show up in specific rooms and no one tells you where they are. So just look around and explore right? Not that simple as they only have a 3-5% (We think 5) to spawn in that room when you enter it. This means if you never knew they were there in the first place you will walk past an area that already has digimon in it thinking nothing of that area. It’s literally based on chance. Hows a kid suppose to know that you have to go to this specific place and keep entering and leaving until they show up. When you first play the game you don’t even know they exist. X35 Earthwalker remembers the first time encountering Pixiemon. He was intrigued and surprised as he never saw it before. Talked to it and said it’s an ultimate digimon. He knew it must be strong but wanted to give it a try with his champion digimon and recovery items. Pixiemon destroyed his digimon easily. It wasn’t even a fight… it was abuse. He did get revenge on pixiemon though. Another cryptic digimon is fridgimon which will only show up if your digimon is sick and in a certain room in freezeland. Not only that but your digimon needs to either be a baby, in training or specific fire type digimon like greymon, tyrannomon, argumon etc. How are you suppose to figure that out? First of all Digimon World teaches you to never let your digimon get sick and if it does, you cure it straight away with the medicine item or head back to file city quick with autopilot to go to centarumon. If your digimon stays sick for too long, it will literally die and lose a life. If anyone says found it by chance… we don’t believe you. That means you are saying you happen to have a baby or in training digimon in freezeland which if dull of powerful and dangerous digimon who would destroy you so there’s no reason to bring them. Or you had a digimon, went to freezeland just happened to get sick in the right room and that digimon happens to be a fire type and the right specific fire type? Nope don’t believe you. Digimon don’t get sick naturally really, unless they consume an item that warns you that it could cause sickness , so normal players avoid those items. Second when sick you cure them immediately or auto pilot back to file city so you wouldn’t be there for a while to trigger the event. We skeptical today. There are many digimon to get that are cryptic.

Lastly let’s talk about difficulty. Digimon World is a very hard game. The first digimon you encounter in native forest aren’t strong at all and you can beat most of them comfortably with your first digimon. When you get to the jungle, dino region and mount panorama they get tough and require a strong digimon to beta. When you get to freezeland, misty trees and especially factorial town the digimon there are extremely strong and should be avoided. There was a platinum sukamon (or silver) which had over 4000 HP! Wow! There are many digimon with over 3000HP with some brutal attacks. You need an ultimate digimon at some point to really make it far or a very strong champion with good moves and lots of healing items. Some battles are to get digimon back to the city are brutal. Facing ultimate digimon like Pixiemon, mamemon and metalmamemon are terribly hard fights as they have over 5000 HP and even moves that can do over 1000 damage. Then you have didigmon like Greymon, Airdramon and etemon who surprise attack you without warning and either catch you off guard with a few items or a baby digimon or deal unpreventable damage upon ambush. You have no warning that they are coming. Some digimon like ogremon forces you to fight three on one. Gururamon fights you twice. It ain’t easy out here. Your best bet is to have an ultimate digimon. We’ll too bad to those who played this game back in the day as kids because we couldn’t get ultimates unless by pure chance. We use to try avoiding every digimon we came across to prevent using recovery items. There also wasn’t a well known way of making money in Digimon world. You got money from battle or selling items. Now there are good strategies. You can bring your digimushroom to the trading moyjamon in freezeland to get medium recoveries which you can trade with another to get s def discs which can be sold for 2000 each. So 15 mushrooms = 15 medium recoveries which = 15 s def discs which when sold = 30000. Or you could sell your cards to that giant frog creature in the gecko swamps and use your points to get super recovery for 20 points which sells for 1250 each.

Overall we enjoyed Digimon World. It’s a game from the childhood days. Even before having a memory card for the PS1, seeing how far we could get in a Saturday. Learning the techniques to see what’s out there. This was difficult and unfair in a number of ways but was a to of fun too with lots to do. This game was RPG, open world, adventure and very deep and detailed and it was released back in 1999. It was ahead of it’s time. We have seen some people do a whole play through but clearly are using online guides and all always go to start of with greymon to get metal greymon to get skullgreymon which is boring and not relatable. Too much copying. We have the most fun playing it ourselves. This game is available still and we suggest you give it a try. Just know that training in the gym is a grind but there are ways to speed up training like hawk radish, training manual and certain digimon you invite to the city. No two playthroughs are the same so try it and have fun. Now Digimon World may have bee fun and ahead of it’s time but even it is nothing special when compared to… the ‘Earth Walk!’

DOOM Eternal  is the new DOOM game and developed by ‘Id Software‘ and published by ‘Bethesd‘. This game has already gotten the attention of many gamers and critics already. with different things being said. None of what they say matters though because after all… A game isn’t reviewed until X35 Earthwalker reviews it. That’s why you are here. You’re welcome. Time for what we think about DOOM Eternal. How good is it really? Let’s take a look.

DOOM Eternal continues from where we remember… killing demons. You start off on the Fortress of Doom… not the fortress of solitude, you’re thinking of Superman. Can you focus please?! This fortress is basically Doom guy’s head quarters. Through his computer system ally, Vega, he can have portals set up for him to travel to where he needs to go. It’s a big upgrade over the last game. We don’t know how he got to this fortress of Doom and we never learn. Last we remember he was sent away by Dr Samuel Hayden. Somehow he has a base now. This needs to be answered and maybe updates and DLC will explain this. After this though the story is basically straight forward, which is a step over the last DOOM game which wasn’t so straight forward. You quickly kill a hell priest by cutting off his head and nicely straightening his crown.

After slaying many demons, you set out to kill the remaining two hell priests. Doom guy let’s them run away, for some reason. You meet the main problem, who is the Khan Makyr. She’s a higher being who basically rules a messed up, discount, wannabe, technology made heaven. If you want to know more… then buy and play the game yourself (you cheapskate). Doom guy heads of for the next hell priest. Finds him, kills him, then goes to get Samuel Hayden because he needs his help to find the last hell priest because the Khan makyr moved him and hid him. With Samuel’s help, you find him, kill him and then set your eyes on stopping the khan makyr herself. So you go to hell, and find a means to get to her domain, prevent her from controlling the icon of sin, beat her and then set off to destroy the icon  of sin. That’s the story basically.

Now straight away we can say it’s an improvement over the last DOOM game. Combat is more fast paced. It’s more ruthless, there’s more demons and they definitely swarm you a whole lot more. They do feel way easier to beat though because some demons like the cacodemon have weaknesses that players can exploit. If you fire a grenade or sticky bomb into the mouth of the cacodemon, then it get staggered instantly which makes them really easy but adds to the strategy of the game. We definitely enjoyed playing the game and it was a blast for sure. We weren’t over the moon like some others were but definitely had fun. You certainly felt like a powerful character and DOOM Eternal succeeds in demonstrating what the Doom slayer is all about. He’s direct, got fire power, violent and relentless.

Now let’s get into the main part. What’s good about DOOM Eternal. You have a new weapon called the ballista which is a powerful and very useful. Great for defeating flying enemies. Some of the weapon mods are very useful like the one where you can detonate the rockets you fire when you want. You have powerful weapons and they make a difference when facing a horde of demons. All of these new abilities that Doom guy has makes you feel powerful. The flame belch, shoulder grenade launcher, dash ability, frost grenade, blood punch and more makes you feel ready for everything. There’s lots of lore that you can find and then read. The lore are collectibles but when you have a lot of them you get a lot of information. Which is better than the previous DOOM game as now we can know a lot about the game, the past, characters and more. There are new enemies too which off course shakes things up. For example the Carcass is an annoying monster who likes to set up barriers which block your movement and fire. Can be busted by plasma rounds though resulting in an explosion. There’s even a Dread knight which like the hell knight, chases you down and plans to beat you up. There’s loads of collectibles and they are definitely worth finding as they actually do something. Also majority of them aren’t cryptic  so getting all of them isn’t impossible at all. The Marauder is a cool new enemy that brings a sense of rivalry. They use to be the sentinels who doom guy joined and fought alongside in the past. They have similar skills in terms of the ability to dash, a super shotgun, good speed and even argent based equipment. Every time  a marauder shows up, it becomes a duel. The journey through the campaign isn’t confusing. The levels have good design. There’s an artic level, hell level, destroyed earth level, ancient ruins level and more. More variety than the previous DOOM. We definitely liked how the game shows you the weaknesses of certain enemies and how you ca exploit them. They do this quickly with a video showing exactly what to do and with what weapon. That’s excellent and really came in handy. Excellent graphics, sounds are great, not a big fan of the music much but it suited the game though. The environments and the details in them are excellent and can at times tell a story. The level design for most of the levels are great and we enjoyed making our way through them and seeing what’s going on. Good variety in the levels. Lastly it’s been made sure that you always have a chance to get ammo and armour as during big combat, weak fodder enemies always spawn so you can chainsaw, glory kill or flame belch them, which is good game design.

Time for the negatives about DOOM Eternal. Yes there are negatives. First things first is that there is a lack of multiplayer. We really enjoyed the game modes of the last doom game and they were chaotic. They could have kept those with this new game mode. The multiplayer in DOOM Eternal is very intense but too hard for the player who is the slayer. We have seen people including Ohmwrecker play as the slayer and not win any matches, even after getting some experienced and knowing what to do. X35 Earthwalker played as the slayer and lost his first three matches and hated it because of how unfair it was but then practiced some more and now has won four in a row as the slayer against different skilled demon p[layers. Bottom line… winning as the slayer takes 100% of you and your focus to at times just barely win. We will talk more on the multiplayer later. Another negative about DOOM Eternal is that there’s one level called Nekravol part 2 which has an annoying challenge which you only have one chance to compete. It’s the one where you have to glory kill a tyrant demon from behind. This is simple but there is only one tyrant demon in the whole level and it’s at the very end of the level. If you accidentally did too much damage or miss the first stagger then you can easily miss your chance, which means you need to do the whole level over again (yes we know you can restart checkpoint). It’s annoying. Another thing that was annoying and could get you killed is that enemies who are touching you just slightly, even if they don’t look like they are touching you will completely block your dash which is stupid. It doesn’t make sense. Also some of the weapon masteries are unnecessary. Some like the microwave beam require too much of a set up to complete. You need to microwave beam blow up a master and need another monster to be near enough die from the explosion… 15 times. Not as simple as it sounds. Another problem is that cacodemons do too much damage with their shots especially. On Nightmare difficulty their burst can actually kill you straight out. Also Doom guys character doesn’t make sense here. Doom guy is impatient and will destroy demons on sight like with the first hell priest. Yet when the second and third hell priest is right there and didn’t even know he was there at the time, he walked around them, let them talk and  even let them teleport away. This is a contradiction. He should have just killed them straight away. So not true to the character.

Another negative is that the ending of the game was honestly lame. We wanted to see some sort of result of what has now taken place after your victory. Does Doom guy go back into isolation, or stay under the radar while the arc broad cast continue to see if they can find doom guy and conspiracy theory over his action etc. Does humanity rebuild or what? What happens to Samuel Hayden? Also the enemies track you too well. Even if you continue moving they can hit you very well with good accuracy. You have to keep jumping and dashing all the time as well. Their accuracy and tracking makes fights not hard but plain annoying. The buff totems make the enemies too fast in our opinion, they should be shown down just a little. What we seriously hated and know is complete bullcrap is that one moment where you are introduced to the Arch-Vile demon. You see red glowing enemies and you think, because it’s always been the case in the past, that there’s a buff item powering these enemies up as they are faster and respawn. So you run around the place searching for a long time looking for this totem while they chase and bombard you. We saw the Arch-Vile and shot him nicely but being chased and knowing that if we kill him, he will revive, we moved on to look for the totem. We couldn’t find it. We even found a secret by accident while looking for the totem. We then learnt that there is no Totem! For some reason the Arch-Vile is the tome now. Wow! Thanks game, thanks for telling us. Yes we know the prompt that says there’s a buff them didn’t show up but we didn’t notice that but went by what the game trained us to think. They suddenly changed the rules and that wasted our time and annoyed us. The game normally explains new things like with the demons weaknesses. We hated that. Lastly is that the unmakyr was a huge disappointment. After all we went through to get it, we expected way more destruction and firepower. We ended up never using it because it shared the same ammo as the BFG 9000 and is weaker than it. The BFG 9000 is the better choice.

Now let’s talk more about the multiplayer. We mentioned that it’s very hard to win as the slayer and how the matches are always intense. Most likely the most intense multiplayer we have ever played, when as the slayer. For example, as the slayer you to keep track and think about at least 10 things at the same time. You have to keep track of your ammo, health and armour, decide when to go for each one of them. Keep an eye on your equipment cool down, know the locations of the enemy demons, be prepared for the loot block, avoid being trapped by summoned enemies, remember all your controls, know and use the environment lifts, teleports and poles, while remembering to dash and keep moving, while aiming at your enemies while moving. Now that messes up your head, especially since you have the added problem of the pressure you feel knowing two of your enemies are human controlled and therefore have intelligence. That’s all going on in the mind of the slayer. Also don’t listen to those so called no it all who say dumb things like “it’s just like the campaign”. It isn’t. It’s different. The campaign will prepare you but it’s not the same.

Things are different for the demons. The demons work together as it’s 2 demons against 1 slayer. The player demons can summon demons to fight alongside them. They can also create a damaging green field zone which is overpowered by the way, it does so much damage real fast. Worst of all is that they can loot block which means everything that the slayer gets from glory killing, flame belching and chainsawing disappears. It prevents the slayer from getting resources. Both demons get one so they can easily deny loot if they pay attention and activate at the right time. Also, the demons can come back after they die if their partner is still alive, within 20 seconds (we think… It could be 15). Plus with the demons having their own skills and attacks too. When X35 Earthwalker did play as the demon, it was easy. He won his first ever match as a demon even when he didn’t know how to summon anything. It was funny, he literally tried to figure out how to summon through the whole match and still won. That says it all. So multiplayer is fun but unreasonably hard for the slayer.

We enjoyed finding all the collectibles like the toys in DOOM Eternal. Each one rewarded you by having an impact in same shape or form. For example the toys look cute but when you head back to the fortress of doom, when selected they become the 3D model feature so you can see the demon or slayer as they are in the game. The records become music you can play while on in the fortress of doom. You see the record cover hanging up on the walls. The cheat codes are there for you to use and completely change how you play (like the skulls from Halo, including the confetti effect). The lore pages gives you… lore. The sentinel batteries grant access to other power ups, weapon mods and more. They were all fun to find and they weren’t cryptic level difficult to find. With some effort and using your head you can easily get them all. So they made collecting fun. Nice one. Our favourite toy has to be Arachnotron toy. So cool.

Quickly let’s just saw something we have noticed and was obvious to us. Have you noticed how the doom guy’s upgrades in DOOM Eternal  over the last game makes him more like and closer to a certain more famous armoured super soldier? The Master Chief. We think the developers of DOOM Eternal saw that old episode of Death Battle and decided that they wanted to gear Doom guy up, ready for a future rematch. What? You don’t believe us huh? Alright hear us out.

Think about this:

Master chief from Halo 5 could spartan dash, now Doom guy can dash too.

Master chief is incredibly athletic, now doom guy is swinging of poles

Master chief had spartan charge which he used to get through cracked walls. Doom guy dashes through cracked walls now

Master chief survives a fall from orbit to a planet, doom guy now got shot out of a big weapon and smashes through a wall at high speed and survives

Master chief is a legend and leader amongst spartans, now doom guy is a legend and leader amongst the sentinels

Master chief has cortana who stays in his head in a chip like form, doom guy near the end of the game has Vega (an A.I) go into a capsule button like form and attaches it to him

Master Chief has the energy beam sword, doom guy now has the argent energy sword

Do we need to say more! Like come on. The developers are making him more like master chief and ready for a fight. We saw some you tubers talking about who would win in a fight and they were good at getting the feats and information but terrible at applying them to a fight. By the way we do believe that if they both fought that Master Chief would win quite comfortably but that’s a blog post for another time.

Overall DOOM Eternal is an excellent game with loads of strength and small weaknesses. It’s worth playing and worth buying. Excellent graphics, environments and liked the level design. There’s more we can say but let’s leave it here. We would say a high 9/10! The developers Id Software have done an excellent job with this game. Now DOOM Eternal may have a relentless deadly Doom slayer but he’s a complete wuss and joke if he faces… the ‘Earth Walk!’

DOOM Eternal action

Final Fantasy XV is the latest (we are not counting the remake) and biggest Final Fantasy game. It’s developed and published by Square Enix. Now straight up, we at X35 Earthwalker definitely like this game. We had a great time for sure. There’s a lot going on in this game so we will cover all the important stuff (yes there are spoilers but is it really a spoiler at this point as the game has been out for like 4 years now). So check this out.

First things first. The story. We enjoyed the story. It’s one of those stories where if you don’t pay attention you won’t understand the crucial parts. The main parts are obvious though. You control Prince Noctis Lucis Caelum. Son of king Regis Lucis Caelum. The king sends his son and his friends: Ignis, Gladiolus and Prompto of a missions. Basically Noctis is off to go get married to his fiancé Lady Lunafreya. The wedding is also a political move too but whatever. As you are in Galdin Quay you learn that your home town got attacked by the empire during a peace treaty signing. Your hometown, Insomnia, got destroyed, many people died, including Gladiolus and your Father are dead. You can’t reach home, nor do you have the power to take back the city. You continue to Altissia to find your fiancé and encounter the ‘Six’.  Who are the Six? It’s a prophecy concerning the chosen king and how the Six, who are gods, the give Noctis power. It’s basically about getting lots of power destined for the king. There’s the ring of Lucis, the crystal, which the Lucis monarchy have guarded for numerous years, power from the six and the royal arms. We won’t explain everything. Just get the power and get to Altissia.

It’s a big journey. You even need to get and repair a boat to travel the sea and reach the island. The story does make sense and it’s easy to understand except for the ending which is sort of cryptic. Unless there’s content that explains what happens or a sequel is coming, games should let the players know what’s happening. Did Noctis really die, if so, him marrying Lunafreya was that in heaven, another realm, his wish granted as the chosen king to be with his fiancé or what? The dossier doesn’t explain and neither is there additional information. It’s not good to leave your players who are paying attention with giant question marks, especially when we worked hard to beat the game and more. This is a small negative though.

Concerning the  Final Fantasy XV characters, we like them. Especially the four main characters who we follow around. Seeing how the four interact with each other was excellent. Noctis is the prince who everyone must protect and care for but he isn’t the most mature guy around and clearly has an attitude problem. Ignis is the greatest of all time and our favourite. He is the cook, the driver, the advisor and has the most wisdom. He is also the most educated and has an amazing accent and way of talking. Gladiolus is the big strong guy, focused and super stern and militant in some ways. He’s the big brother of the group. Prompto is the joker, the best friend of Noctis and most cheerful member, bringing the laughs and keeping spirits high. They joke with each other, pick on each other, make fun of each other like Ignis’s hair in the wild wind, or Noctis having a scrawny body and no muscle according to Gladiolus. They act like actual best friends and like best friends they even have arguments which we will get into later.  You will end up caring about the four and their safety. There was a hint in the game where Ignis got hurt and he lost his sight. This actually hit X35 Earthwalker personally as he cared for Ignis. That’s what this game does to you. You care and possible relate to this characters based on their traits.

The Final Fantasy XV world is huge and definitely beautiful and amazing. There is firstly the cinematic scenes which are beautifully done and the details are top level. The desert area is dusty, mountains in the distance, the sand stormy areas do effect vision to some extent, there is a deep pit of water and the whole area literally looks like a good wild wilderness area. The next area is a very green, water pit area with literally large lakes, giant fossilised bones , bushes, lakes for fishing and more. Expect rain too. There’s even a simp like area and a mountainous place where rough wyvern enemies dwell. Multiple cities and towns for you to visit as well. All looks good. The roads, the world, as you travel, the graphics, character design is all very good. From time to time and especially when we entered a new area, we would stop and look around at the environment and area to see the design and the hard work that went into it.

Now a large game and world like Final Fantasy XV needs ways to traverse it right. There are cities, a coast, forests, sandy desert areas and more with numerous side quests all around. Well Final Fantasy XV has provided such means.  Off course you can just hoof it and walk and sprint to where you need to go.Better though is that you can get access to Chocobos, which are the famous loveable giant chicken birds that you can ride. Chocobos can even do sprints which under the right conditions can bring some real speed. Next is the Regalia, which is the royal car. So actual horsepower right here. The regalia also has some options. For example, you can have Ignis drive you, drive yourself or even use fast travel. Now this is good game design. You have on foot, chocobos, car and a fast travel. Also when you turn the Regalia into the type D which becomes a serious off road monster truck like vehicle that can even jump. Yes… a jumping car. Final Fantasy XV has multiple options and ways for you to travel and get around. You can literally set a route for Ignis to drive and he will automatically drive the car there while the player can put down the control and quickly go do something else. Does come in handy.

Final Fantasy XV rewards players who like to explore. As you travel by car, chocobo or foot you will come across treasure, items, ingredients and more. You may even discover a dungeon containing a mighty beast to face. You can come across fishing spots too. Now the fishing is whole new game in itself. You need to put together your fishing rod and even decide what bait to use. Some bait will only attract certain fish, few have special effects etc. You throw in your bait and see what is paying attention to it. Then you need to reel in your bait at different speeds to attract the fish to it as some prefer fast moving bait while others prefer slow moving bait. Then when they catch, you see what fish it is allowing you to decide if you want to try and catch it or not. You have a brief moment to decide though. Then when you actually try to catch it, it’s a battle. The fish will move right and then left, back and forth to try and make things hard for you. You must tilt the control stick in the same direction it is moving to prevent your fishing line from taking damage. You must wait for the right moments to start reeling in the fish which reduces it’s stamina. Once their stamina reduces to nothing, you win. Fishing isn’t simple and it can actually be real hard to get the biggest strongest fish which also requite Noctis to have a higher fishing level, which increases as you fish. We have caught the Vesper Gar (we hate that thing) and something bigger.

Probably our favourite thing at the end of each in game day is the camping. Final Fantasy XV does have a day night cycle. It gets real dark so you make your way to a camp site. Gladiolus puts up the tent, prompto helps set up and keeps the chatter going. Ignis, the main man, stands by the grill and thinks about what meal to cook. You select the meal and Ignis with the click of his fingers gets straight to work. The way he does it is art. Then you see the meal made and presented in a bowl, plate or whatever is appropriate. Then you see all four characters actually eating the meal you selected and having a good chat. The developers went and did all this work. For example if you choose a meal that’s skewers then you see them holding the skewers and taking bites. If cup noodles then you see them with the cup and getting those noodles down them. Also the details on the food is very good too. Some meals makes us want to eat it too. We also liked the idea that you get buffs from your meals. Some meals increase your max health, attack, magic, spirit or a combination temporarily. Some meals increase the amount experience points you get, others make your tech meter fill up faster. So get tactical and decide what  you need… when it comes to food.

The combat in Final Fantasy XV is simple on one side but also deep on the other side. Let us explain. Sure al you have to do it hold down attack and everything is automated, then hold down block to dodge and survive. At it’s core… that’s it… but there’s more. While attacking, use the control stick to adjust where Noctis attacks and shift around to the back of the enemy. Why? Because striking the back does trigger a blindside which if an ally is near you both do a fancy powerful tag team move that does lots of damage. o always aim for the back. If you successfully block an attack that alerts the player by telling you to block, you can parry right afterwards which if an ally is nearby leads to a tag team strike which again does lots of damage. So fight near your allies. Next jumping and then attacking in the air triggers different kinds of moves, especially with certain javelins. Once unlocked through the ascension with AP points you can even air step, dodge and block in the air while striking from above. You can warp strike into enemies which while warping you are invincible so time your warps and you can avoid lethal attacks while dishing out some damage. Best of all though is that you can  perform link strikes if you have filled up your link gauge (which fills as you attack and defend). You can unlock and then set what link strike you want each ally to have. For example, Prompto can have piercer, Gladiolos can have dawn hammer, and Ignis has enhancement. You choose which you want and they will do it. You are invincible while they are doing the move. If you wait for the prompt at the end of their move you can perform your tag team strike right afterwards for additional damage. It doesn’t end there. You can use the armiger which fills as you fight, then unleash to increase your attack strength and greatly boost speed and mobility. You literally end up dashing around, and striking with great power (this isn’t even your final form). Then you can do a armiger chain where you use your remaining armiger “fuel” and deliver a strong attack with your allies. You can also do a cross chain with your allies where you warp strike into a vulnerable enemy and you all then take turns striking the enemy, increasing the damage with each successful pushed attack button when prompted to, leading up to a final flashy finishing strike, normally kills the enemy.

Final Fantasy XV also has summons. After you gain the support and help of the gods you can then summon them in combat to help you. They each have conditions though on how to be summoned. This sadly wasn’t explained in the game and we didn’t even know until recently. For example when you get Ramuh’s mark, he can only be summoned when a fight you are in drags on for a long time then you will see the prompt to summon and he will show up. Titan can be summoned when your allies are down or in danger and only in certain places of the world like a bog open place. Leviathan can only be summoned when your allies are in danger and when you are near a good amount of water. We aren’t entirely sure about any of this. This is a big fail of Final Fantasy XV. They didn’t;t make the summons clear or how to do it. We get shown Ramuh’s summon because it’s part of the story only. While playing we saw Ramuh once and that’s it. We then kept seeing a bird goddess thing because we  unlocked her through completing a cool special event story. We never saw any other summon.

Last of all Final Fantasy XV has the greatest battle scene of all video gaming time. When we first saw the Leviathan show up and take us on, we were amazed. We knew we can’t beat that thing. It’s too big and has the advantage of going in the water. When we the got our kingly powers unlocked and could fly, launch powerful explosive attacks, dash and practically teleport and strike with immense force we knew it was a serious battle. Combine this battle and the weather, the environment and the epic music. It was a battle that you will never forget. literally no other game gave us an exciting moment like this. Final Fantasy XV has the greatest not just combat but gaming scene in video game history. We were amazed the whole way through. More games need epic moments like this. Sadly there wasn’t anything else like this in the rest of the game even though this game has the room and potential for it.

Final Fantasy XV is also relatable and one of the few games that really brings the emotions at least for us. We will give two examples. When Gladiolus and Noctis had a major disagreement and they almost fought on the train after some exchange of words you understood both sides. Noctis lost his fiancé and was really down about it as anyone would be but the events on the train took place several weeks after that though. In that time he was so focused on that, that he ignored and forgot about his friends, mainly Ignis who lost his sight and was badly wounded while trying to help Noctis. Ignis was blind and it seems like Noctis almost paid no mind. So we understand why Gladiolus was mad and frustrated with Noctis. He was basically being the harsh big brother getting his little brother to get his head straight and be more considerate of others. When we saw Ignis blind, walking slowly and even falling over… it actually hit us sort of hard. We didn’t dear run ahead, we made sure to keep him close by. We cared about Ignis… all of them and you can clearly see how this is a brothers moment. Gladiolus was harsh, heart in the right place and was right but was too harsh and needed to handle things with more gentleness. Noctis had every right to mourn and be sad but that’s no excuse to forget about and show no compassion and concern for others, especially those who will lay down their lives for him like Ignis did. The second example was the camping you had to do before entering the home city of Insomnia. It’s the last camp the four will do together. It, as usual, gives you the choice of what to eat. You then realise that this is literally the last meal the four friends were going to have together. They won’t get this again. No more laughter around the camp fire. All of a sudden you had to think carefully about what you would eat. It was an emotional moment.

Let’s sum up. Final Fantasy XV failed to explain summons properly and the conditions of the summons concerning the ‘the six’. There also wasn’t enough summons. The camera when you was driving the car (the Regalia) was too close to the car and when you went up steep hills, you couldn’t see anything as the camera was in the car. Your line still taking damage even though you stopped reeling and turning the rod in the direction is stupid. Either make us turn faster or reduce or give a heads up of when the fish turns as some turn to quickly without any warning and showing no time to reel in. Also when the fish jumps up and you get a prompt to press a button, it does little to no effect on the fish’s stamina. The ending needs to be cleared up as after spending lots of hours into the game, you deserve to know exactly what happened and understand it. A bit of cryptic for details is fine but the end result should be clear. AP points needed to come more frequently as we finally got the two link strike abilities which cost 333 and 999 AP points but by that time we were basically near the very end of the game. Took too long to get there and have much more to unlock. Also we hate that the empire’s forces can drop in while you are fighting a bounty creature. Regular travels and enemies are fin but not when you are facing tough monsters as bounty. That was super annoying. We hated that. Enemy targeting in combat wasn’t perfect and was annoying when your character starts shining at an enemy far away instead of the vulnerable enemy on the ground right next to you… but when you fully understand how the targeting works, that happens way less.

What they did well was: excellent top level graphics and wonderful looking cutscenes. Great details on the food which makes you want to eat it too. Good options in traverse the game like the Regalia and chocobos. Epic boss battles including the greatest boss battle and game moment in all of history. Characters are relatable, stand out, unique, got own stories and history and you actually care about them. Lots of relatable lessons and moments in the game like friendship, bonds, trust, loss, betrayal, mystery, laughter, victory, love, pain, depression and more.We loved the camping and it’s mechanics. Final Fantasy XV rewards you for exploring. Lots of customisation for car and characters. Can change gear and abilities even during combat. Has epic summons. Combat is smooth, simple but can get real deep. There’s fun activities too like chocobo racing, fishing (can be challenging though). Loads of side quests with most not be same or simple fetch quests, except Dave and his dog tags which makes sense though as being a hunter is a tough job and many will die. Nice interesting story with some mystery. Even something unusual like a proper political meeting between the king of Lucis and the first secretary of Accordo, Camelia Claustra which requires a different approach. Final Fantasy XV has pictures that Prompto takes which you can decide which ones to save and they can bring back memories or reminders of the journey. You can save anywhere and there is a new game plus with more stuff to do end game so it isn’t ver. The game has the right difficulty. Some moments and enemies are real easy but do side quests and level up and you can fairly face the strong monsters. Cool enemies with variety… we got to fight a flaming griffon bird thing. Now that’s cool. An abundance of items granting powerful effects. There’s even a monster arena where you can place your bets and watch creatures you’ve met and thought on your journey battle each other to the death. Bet on the winning monster and you make a lot. There’s even items you can buy to help your chances of winning in the monster arena. There’s more to say but that covers the basics.

Overall Final Fantasy XV has basically everything. It’s positive way way way way overcomes the few negatives which aren’t even that serious. We truly enjoyed playing the game, taking our time and exploring. We like facing cool monsters and enemies. We will never forget facing Leviathan the Hydraean. When it comes to design, details, variety, hard work put in and share fun… we crown Final Fantasy XV so far as the greatest game we have ever played. We know, that’s a most serious statement to make. Is it our favourite game… no. Is it best game ever made, possibly no because it has way more than Halo 5 because of the type of game that it is. Final Fantasy XV being an open world RPG has room for anything and everything. You can have racing, exploration, underwater levels, huge stories and more because open world RPG are built like that and always require the most time spent in them with numerous side quests and levelling up to do. It’s a true adventure. Halo 5 is a set first person shooter game. You complete each of the levels, shoot some aliens and you end the game. It’s linear and set. Open world RPG like Final Fantasy can have multiple stories within one game and has room for DLC and expansions like it already has. It’s just way bigger and allows for so much more. So it’s the greatest game we have ever played wee have yet to decide if it’s the best game ever made but it’s definitely a strong contender. We had so much fun and would recommend it to anyone. Literally anyone. There is a few puzzle elements, racing, explorations, beautiful moneys and environments and action. It has everything. The developers ‘Square Enix‘ have done an awesome job with this game. Final Fantasy XV deserved way more credit from reviewers and way more attention. We didn’t cover everything but this is good enough. Now Final Fantasy XV may be the greatest game ever made but it’s still worthless when compared to… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is one of those games that many people have been waiting for. Even X35 Earthwalker himself was looking forward to the day when the Crash Team Racing remake would come out. It was described as a smashing blast from the past. If you did play Crash Team Racing in the past then you have to give this a try and see fro yourself… but what did we think? This is a nice review. Let’s take a look.

Now straight from the start, original Crash Team Racing gamers will notice that the starting screen isn’t the same. In Nitro-Fueled, Crash comes up from off screen to grab the trophy while in the original he was always on screen within reach of the trophy but that’s just a bit of trivia for you (impressed yet?). Now straight from the main menu the game practically reveals all the modes and tracks it has to offer. Crash Team Racing Nitor-Fueled has all the original tracks plus the tracks from Crash Nitro Kart which was a smart move. We know for a fact that there will be no Crash Nitro Kart remake as Crash Team Racing was the more popular and succesful. Still was a great game though. Overall Nitro-Fueled has lots of content for players and the menu makes that clear.

Let’s start with adventure mode which is the main meat of the game. It’s just as we remembered it. Four tracks per area, win a race and get a trophy then you can’t renter until you get the boss key of the area. Once all four tracks have been won, the boss will emerge and challenge you to a race. The animations for the bosses, their introduction is very well done. We were happy with them, especially Ripper Roo. It just showed how crazy he really is. If you are new to the game then you need to do some practicing on the area track and get some skills. You need to get your head checked if you think you can be a beginner and beat Ripper Roo. Then everything else played out just like the original. The remake was faithful to the original and the animations really added some new flavour and personality to the characters. Now let’s quickly talk about the graphics. The graphics are excellent. We remember the old looks of the levels and seeing the new looks were amazing. The best looking track has to be Coco park. They made that place look awesome like we want to visit that place, as long as there’s no racers nearby hurling bombs and homing missiles. By the way, how comes Coco has a whole major awesome park for herself, with statues of herself and more?

Many players like to jump straight into online modes. You know how these kids are these days, they beat Oxide and suddenly think they are fast. You can do online battle or race in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. The main thing is off course racing as that’s what most did with the original. Battle was fun but it’s very different from what you get in the adventure mode. Online matches are also the best way to earn wumpa coins. Average races and modes in adventure mode only offer from 80-20 coins. That’s lame as the items that actually matter cost a minimum of 1500. Winning an online match can get you 300, sometimes more and sometimes less. That’s a big difference. Even coming second can get you 165. The problem is winning though. If you suck, then you won’t make as much. Also online is where the real matches happen. X35 Earthwalker, the one true Earthwalker, the legendary soldier himself has dominated online. There are some players who are here to just have fun. There are some who want to win and rely more on items. There are those who think they are fast and get real salty and send messages when they lose. Lastly there are those who’ve got some speed. We’ve had some serious races but so far, no one better than X35 Earthwalker. So basically online is where the real action is at. It does take a bit too long to find a match and takes longer to actually start the match.

The Grand Prix content that recently got added to Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled brought in a bunch of new stuff that really reveals where the name nitro fuelled truly comes from. Sort of like a battle pass, players can earn nitro to fit up the meter to unlock rewards like vehicles skins, paint jobs, stickers and even new characters. What we were happy to see is the return of Chick and Stew from Crash Tag Team Racing. They are bringing the reports as never before, except Stew isn’t getting a new funky hat every time the camera comes back to him… what a shame… BRING BACK THE HATS! The gran prix also brings in new tracks never before seen. Whole new race tracks. Now we was going to list this next thing under everything bad about Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled but the Grand Prix saved the game. The Bandicoot girls are back. So happy to see them again. Ami, Megumi, Isabella, Liz and Tawna (Tawna wasn’t in CTR) are all here and ready to race. When we didn’t see them in the original release of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled, introducing and applauding the victor of the races we were not happy. We remembered them so clearly and they were a part of the whole thing especially since each girl was assigned to a racing team. A different girl who show depending on the character that wins. Now they are back and geared up. It would have been better if they made it so that either by meeting certain conditions or whatever reason each of the girls who show up one by one challenging the player to a one on one like how Super smash bros Brawl did new unlockable characters. Off course make each of the girls have their own difficult going from easy to extremely hard. Just an idea.

Now Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is definitely harder than we remember the original being. Definitely watch the above video to see what we mean. The difference between medium and hard difficulty is crazy. When we play medium, the A.I are too easy but when you play hard, the A.I are ridiculous. Remember that the gameplay video above is gameplay of X35 Earthwalker’s first ever races on the game, so was still rusty. Even getting the relics seems to be harder, we could be wrong but that was years ago. Well getting the sapphire and gold isn’t hard… it’s the platinums that all the noobs and beginners can only dream about (don’t get mad guys, just joking) but seriously they seem harder than we remember. Well not all tracks are created equally as some like Tiny arena allow for you to make it in with time to spare while others like N Gins lab has no forgiveness and require near perfect execution of crate smashing. The rematch with Oxide also seems a bit harder than before but once you get in front of him, he’s a complete push over. Fans and critics are divided understandably. Some say that it’s too hrs but that’s mainly coming from those who never played the original before. If you are new, then you really need to practice first. You won’t stand a chance against the real drivers who are online. They will do some bad stuff to you… stuff you can’t even talk about. Seriously we’ve seen players been left far behind the group simply because they are just learning. Online isn’t for learning. Then there are the layers who seem like they’ve been playing the original crash for the last 15 years, training for this remake… off course they say the game isn’t hard. So most the options come from Crash Team Racing history.

Now let’s talk about what the remake did wrong or was not so good. We noticed that you have less control over your power slides in Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. It feels harder to control. We just had to get use to it. We knew the remake wouldn’t be able to fully replicate the exact feeling of the original. The hit detection with walls and surfaces seem worse than in the original. We find ourselves during our first races colliding and being shown down by walls when it looks like we aren’t even touching it. Again this is something annoying but something you have to get use to. Even though they brought them back as race-able characters they still weren’t part of the original release of Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled to congratulate the winners. If Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is suppose to be a remake then include everything the original had… simple. They were a part of the game and everyone remembers them. They should have been there. They should have had a cinematic feature where you can rewatch the new cutscenes concerning the bosses as they were great and fun to watch. Beginner characters like Polar, Pura and Liz are discouraged as you get good at the game. Their low speed makes it too hard to compete with excellent racers using high speed characters like Tiny, Dingodile, Ami and Papu Papu. X35 Earthwalker was in an online match and faced a good Papu Papu racer. He was always slightly ahead to due to the difference in character top speed, not skill. In the next race when X35 changed to playing Crash he beat that Papu Papu player without any real problems. The problem is the character speed. The beginner characters are not fast enough. The characters should have no set stats but maybe the vehicles have stats but if they do that, then it’s not an exact remake. So either way beginner characters not valid for good players (that’s why they are called beginner). We don’t see them online (hardly).

Overall Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled is a very good game. Well remade and well designed. Besides the stuff we mentioned there isn’t anything wrong with this game. It’s faithful to the original. The characters and levels look very good. We have the option to switch between the new and old music so you can hear both whenever you pretty much want. The inclusion of the Crash Nitro Kart characters and race tracks was a good move too. We at X35 Earthwalker are overall happy with Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled. The developers ‘Beenox‘ have done a very good job with this game. Now Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled may be a good remake but what doesn’t need a remake is… the ‘Earth Walk!’

Some Crash Team Racing Nitro-Fueled gameplay

Anthem Challenge of Valor

Anthem is an action RPG developed by ‘BioWare‘ and published by ‘Electronic Arts‘. Now there is a number of things for endgame players to do like grinding for masterwork and legendary gear and weapons, complete missions to get coins in order to get new emotes and more customisation. You can even aim to beat strong holds on grandmaster 3 difficulty. Anthem also has some challenges for players to complete while they wait for the next big update to the game. Now these challenges take up time and something you can’t really complete quickly at all. You do get something for doing them though. Let’s take a look.

Lancers must prove themselves to be worthy to be called a legionnaire by completing the ‘challenge of Valor’. This challenge requires that players: complete 100 world events in free play mode, Colette 25 contracts, 25 strong hold missions and 25 quickplay missions. This doesn’t sound like much as first but it’s actually quite long when you dive in. Firstly contract, quicklplay and especially strong holds can take very long depending on the difficulty you are playing on. So missions last Lon on Grandmaster 2 and 3. So off course play in an easier level… you could but then you will get gear and rewards that you literally don’t need or want making the mission pointless. You still want a chance to get the stuff you need like legendary gear. Completing world events in freeplay is annoying as you can fly around for quite a while and not see any events take place. Anthem needs to make events spawn more frequently. So completing 100 of those, especially if you never did any before starting the challenge of Valor will take a very long time.

Anthem Challenge of Valor

So if you grind and managed to complete all that then off course you get a reward. We are hearing different things from different players. Some say they got a vinyl for their javelins, others say they got 10 masterwork embers (not gear but embers) and 4000 coins. X35 Earthwalker on the other hand got more stories from the story teller (bard) who loves to talk about the legionnaires like general Tarsis, Midderon, Magna, Ardan Vassa. Which in case you can’t tell SUCKS! Don’t get us wrong, we like the lore in the game and always like to know more but this shouldn’t be a reward for all that hard work and time spent. Now maybe X35 got some embers and a vinyl but we honestly don’t know as we got no notifications, pop ups or anything. In fact we checked out the challenges before and after completion and it displayed no rewards. We are kept in the dark and we are speaking for ourselves here. This disappointed us greatly and think that Bioware needs to do much better concerning this.

In Anthem’s defence you could say that honestly Anthem players who enjoy the game would be doing contracts, strong holds and freeplay anyway even without the challenge so we should just see this as extra bonuses, which is true to some extent. We are playing even without knowing about the challenge but a number of players do not play freeplay mode as it’s so far the worst mode for getting legendary gear from our experience. Like we mentioned, events pop up infrequently and when they do and you complete it, you might just get epic gear as a reward even when playing on grandmaster 2. Not good and not worth it. So everyone does strongholds for the good stuff and it’s where we got the most legendary gear drop from too. Also we haven’t come across a player who did quickplay. All that we know off who do quickplay only does because of the challenge. So no, not all players will be doing this stuff anywhere.

Anthem Challenge of Might

Also 10 masterwork embers is a poor reward too. Not making this up but X35 Earthwalker once harvested a plant or something (don’t exactly remember) and 25 master work embers came out which has never happened to us before. One random harvesting gave us more than the grand prize for completing a challenge which takes many hours to complete. That’s lame! Oh yeah, we didn’t mention that you get one more reward… you unlock the next challenge. The challenge of might… which is another big challenge, that will take many hours to complete as, that requires you to: defeat 2500 Dominion enemies, 2500 Scars, 25000 Outlaws, 1000 elites and 200 legendary units. That’s all. Now this is something you can complete naturally while playing but its still long but we can only wonder what the prize for completing all that is… probably a top hat.

Now this isn’t the first Anthem has done something like this. As we have mentioned in previous blog posts that you had to complete challenges to advance the story. Many players didn’t like that as the challenges also did take up some time. These challenges need to be done correctly. The rewards aren’t encouraging at all. We literally lost all steam for completing these challenges. We checked online and many there players feel the same way. The Anthem developers needs to improve this by adding in rewards that are actually are good and worth it. So overall what we say to the players who haven’t completed the challenge of valor yet is, take your time. Now the rewards for completing the challenge of valor isn’t worth it but there are some god rewards in… the ‘Earth Walk!’
