Jurassic World Evolution is a new strategy simulation game developed by ‘Frontier‘. It is coming out the 12th of June on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Pretty much everyone with a TV know what Jurassic Park is. Well this game is meant to keep it going. Let’s take a look.
Jurassic World Evolution put players in charge of their own Jurassic world. That’s basically it and the story. Players get to create and manage their own world. Remember Jeff Goldblum? We honestly didn’t but the Jurassic park star will be the one advising players through the game and providing useful information which is actually awesome. Getting a Jurassic Park actor for the game.
So in your own Jurassic World build everything like research facilities and attractions. Players will be completely in control of not only their dinosaur theme park but all operations also the whole island, but also the surrounding isles as well. That’s right. It’s more than a simple building stuff game. There are many things to manage and take into account when building. Keeping everything in check and even handling the dinosaur breeding. With your technology grow new dinosaurs, get your researchers out to dig sites and discover and unearth fossils.
The developers have confirmed players can run multiple parks. It’s like a business, when one park is doing well, why not branch out and have multiple. If all goes well then that’s more money for you; but also like business their is some risk to that. If one thing goes wrong, you then have to fix it which will require players to be observant and problem solving but then you make lose track of something in another park and if control is lost, players will see all their parks sparking chaos everywhere. How? Well what if a Tyrannosaurus Rex got loose and started to snack on your customers? Well… do something about it!
The developers want players to feel the pressure when they finally realise that something small goes wrong. For example leaving out essential facilities that customers and visitors are going to need will negatively affect your theme park. Major issues, like a fence that keeps dinosaurs in, broke down then well it’s Jurassic park all over again. The issue may be that a roller coaster breaks down and that off course will require lots of money and time to repair and handle but do you have the money and time? Stuff like this will turn the sweat factor up for players when handling their theme park
Overall from what we know, as not much information is given, is that Jurassic World Evolution is definitely for a certain audience for people. Some have described this Jurassic World Evolution as Jurassic world combined with ‘Rollercoaster Tycoon‘. This should explain a lot about this game. There is so far nothing about this game that interests us at X35 Earthwalker. The developers ‘Frontier’ are making an interesting direction with their game. We at X35 Earthwalker will not be looking forward to this game but we know there are some gamers who will. Now Jurassic World Evolution has many dinosaurs but not even those old creatures are enough to stop… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Dark Souls: Remastered is the improved version of Dark souls (what else could it be?) and is being developed by ‘Bandai Namco’. It’s coming out the 25th of May on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4, PC. Let’s take a look.
Dark souls is one of those games that some gamers may have some bad memories off. Let’s take a look. That’s right. Dark Souls is back but completely remastered. Graphics, sounds, designs everything. 60 frames per second and all. Now this remastered not only contains the main game but also the Artorias of the Abyss DLC. So do players have what it takes to return to Lordran?
Honestly there isn’t that much to say about this as it’s pretty much self explanatory. We can confirm though that players need to complete the game more than once as each play through will bring new challenges.
We checked out some gameplay and there are lots of different weapons, armour, magic and crafting options allowing for many different combinations. Graphics, monsters, environment, everything is drastically improved.
Overall it’s like we said earlier, it’s a remastered version of a game. That’s pretty much it. Not even the official website has that much information on it and the trailer really keeps things limited. The developers ‘Bandai Namco’ did a nice job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker are not looking forward to this game. Now fighting monsters is one thing but it can’t compare to… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Sinner: Sacrifice for Redemption is a new action RPG developed by ‘Dark Star‘. It’s coming out the 18th of October 2018 on Xbox One, Nintendo Switch and PS4 but later on the PC. Now this game has caught our attention and that means we just have to take a look.
The story in Sinner: Sacrifice for redemption is actually quite interesting. Basically players control Adam who has to face the incarnation of his greatest sins, all while making sacrifices to atone. Even worse Adam has lost his memories. It’s all about Adam trying to remember, understand and off course deal with his past. Now off course there is a bit more going on than just that as it’s only the central struggle…
Adam must also face 8 powerful bosses. Each demonic boss is off course stronger and more dangerous than the last but there is also a catch. Before each boss, players must decide which stat to decrease and level down! That’s right! You have to power down before each major boss clash. This alone raises some problems for players. What happens if you decide to reduce speed but the boss you are going to face requires speed and movement to beat him? We have a problem. Or what if a boss is about being hit real fast for that quick damage but you reduced strength? Oh Dear…
Sinner: Sacrifice for redemption has had quite a number of inspirations. It’s said to be inspired by the Soul series, shadow of the colossus and some anime. Anything related to dark souls can only have one thing in common… being difficult. The soul games are about timing, knowing when to attack and then dodging those vicious attacks from enemies as just a few is all that’s needed to kill you. This should already cause some gamers to feel a bit uncomfortable.
Now what we do know about Sinner: Sacrifice for redemption. There are various weapons for players to get the hang of and master. Like with Monster Hunter: World these weapons have different ad antes which players must recognise and use whats best for each boss. There are some repayable features although we don’t know what they are. You can unlock new game modes, probably like boss rush or a amped up difficulty mode. Last of all we know that there are multiple endings which means, multiple play throughs and most likely decisions that players have to make. Almost like Dante’s inferno in a way.
We checked out some gameplay and this does remind us of Dark souls quite a lot. There are levels where you have to fight regular enemies, dodge powerful attacks and deal with crowds at some points as well. Then when you get to a boss things get much harder. The bosses are so different from each other and will force players to watch, learn, probably die and then hopefully triumph. We do know there is: Rose Paladin Rhodes, Healer Faiz Tilus and Countess Levin Undock. That’s only three of them though and all of them do look like a real problem.
Overall this game has interested us because for us it’s a combination of Dante’s Inferno and Dark souls. It’s going around the topic of sin but we can tell it’s not biblical so we won’t take it seriously. Combine that with the style of dark souls with some new concepts or the whole down grading thing just create quite a cool result. The graphics are nice, not excellent. The designs and environments are good indeed. The developers ‘Dark Star’ did a very good job with this. We at X35 Earthwalker are actually interested in this and will keep an eye out for this. Now some are fighting for redemption while we already have our sins paid for by Jesus. This game still ain’t on the level off… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Far Cry 5 is a action adventure open world first person shooter game and is the fifth main title in the Far Cry series developed by Ubisoft Montreal and published by ‘Ubisoft‘. It’s coming out the 27th of March on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Now apparently there’s a new prophet in town and already we can declare that he’s a false one. Let’s take a look.
The story here in Far Cry 5 is very simple. Basically a false leader called Joseph seed rose to prominence. He’s believes he’s a divine leader of some sort but the truth is, that he’s a radical preacher who uses gun, intimidation, violence and more to control and keep the people in line. He established a congregation which he named ‘Eden’s gate’ which is a militaristic doomsday cult. The residents of Hop county have had enough and formed a resistance and here is where the players get involved. Players control the sheriff’s deputy who is going to arrest Joseph Seed. Joseph isn’t alone though. He has the ‘Herald’, sounds fancy but they are just literally his family.
Now Far Cry 5 is said to be the biggest Far Cry game yet. The game put a lot of focus in making sure players get as much freedom as possible. Players do not have to take on Joseph alone because the campaign is for two player co-op as well. So grab a friend and a rifle and cause some mayhem. What? You thought it was just guns? Nope. You can hire people to fight with you (guns for hire and even hire animals apparently. We heard that you can get more than a dog to help you out. Some have even got a bear to help them out in combat. Can you imagine firing at some resistance members when all of a sudden a bear comes out of no where and starts mauling your friend on the right? So what do you do?
Far Cry 5 A.I’s isn’t as straight forward as other games like Saints row and Grand theft auto. If you strike the enemy real hard then the enemy will strike back just as hard. If you become recognised as a real threat then the cult will seriously amp up their defences and efforts to take you down. Now that sounds scary but we at X35 Earthwalker have yet to see a open world action game like this where the enemies are not a joke. The cult should have the advantage with better and more weapons and people to fight so it should be done in a way that taking on the enemy head on is just suicide. Maybe have a mission where stealth is strongly advised and if they do get caught reinforcements will show up and when they do it’s pretty much game over because of how overwhelming they are. At least make it clear that Eden’s gate is a true threat.
Now when it comes to weapons you certainly ain’t short of them in Far Cry 5. Expect weapons like the: MBP .50, MP40, Compound Bow (that’s ours), AR-C, Grenades, dynamites, melee weapons like a baseball bat, pistols and much more. It doesn’t stop there. You will find vehicles in this world too, like: Coupe, Tractor (why not?), pin up trucks, hydro planes, helicopters and even a 18 wheeler widow maker. Off course there is much more in a game as big as this so exploration should be your thing. Make sure to take time out to go and find these weapons, conquer side missions, build the resistance, hire some guns and off course have a good time taking down a false prophet who is blinding and hurting people.
We checked out some gameplay and we saw the stealth side and the action side of Far Cry 5. When it’s action the game feels sort of like Saints row with enemies coming after you and just firing. You can with some cover mow them down. While when it comes to stealth things like deciding who to eliminate first and when to move and hide the bodies add extra layers to the mechanics. Overall the combat is sort of what we expected but we hope to see how the whole the harder you strike the harder the enemy strikes mechanic come into play. Over from that, there isn’t really anything special about the gameplay. Sure there is much to do when you actually start playing but we will see when it come out.
Overall Far Cry 5 looks like a really cool game but it hasn’t gotten out interest. The story, the gameplay (mainly combat) is just good. The graphics are very good though and we love the idea of marching into battle with a bear or cougar to maul your foes but other from that it’s like we said before feels sort of like a Saint row. It needs something real interesting for us to get into it. Maybe that will change in the future. We will see. The developers ‘Ubisoft’ did a very good job with this game and you can see that a lot of work went into it. We at X35 Earthwalker are not looking forward to this but will keep an ear open for it. Not false prophets are a complete joke and make up lies and therefore will be crushed by… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Extinction is a new action game developed by ‘Iron Galaxy‘. It’s coming out the 10th of April 2018 on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. This game stands out straight away for the fact that there are giant ogres swinging massive sized spiked clubs at us. let’s take a look.
Extinction has caught the eyes of many and for good reason. The first thing that came to our heads when we saw this was ‘Attack on Titan‘. Giant creatures, that easily over power humans and off course is a major threat to them. Pushing humanity to extinction and only certain people can has the skills or ability to kill them. Pretty cool.
The story is quite simple. Basically humanity is continuing to fight and kill each other in wars while the real threat, the real enemy were watching from the shadows, out of sight. Now they strike. Monsters who make it their goal to destroy humans. Now that we think about it, the story is also like Gears of war, with the locusts always being there. The most significant monsters are ogres that stand at 150ft tall. Those large ones also have much smaller minions that are around human size but still bigger. No one can stand up to these creatures, especially the big ones, except for a few who have been trained in the ways of the ancient order. Only with that kind of power can you hope to beat these things.
Players control a character called ‘Avil’ who is one of the last of Earth’s defenders. Off course this won’t be an easy task. Now Extinction claims to have a deep story campaign. We at X35 Earthwalker are actually interested and will certainly like to know more about this story. Will humans rely on a certain device or artefact to destroy all the ogres or will humanity literally have to kill them one by one? Players must save as many civilians as possible. There are many side missions also up for completion and doing so will reward players with upgrades.
To beat such powerful creatures who have overwhelming strength will require speed and mobility, which is what we have in Extinction. Enjoy free movement as you can like Indian Jones use your whip to grapple and reach locations, run along walls, travel up vertically or horizontally and more to manuever around these creatures to find their weak spots. The environment is fully destructible. This again changes things as walls you could have used could get destroyed and being behind a wall may not be as safe as you think. There are different game modes like ‘Extinction mode’ which is basically defending against wave after wave of monsters and there is ‘Skirmish mode’ where gamers can create battlegrounds of their own with different objectives which other players online can take on with a scoring system.
We checked out some gameplay of Extinction and we can say that it’s got quite a deep combat system. Mastering your grapple while is key. The ogres aren’t all same, there are different types which have different armour like gold, iron, bronze and more crazier ones. For example the gold armour is easy to grab onto with your whip, the iron armour can’t be destroyed but they have locks on them which can be destroyed so aim for that, the bone armour is mystical and can only be destroyed at specific times so timing is important, spiked armour is basically a no touch zone, as in if you land on those parts, you take damage and worst of all armour is the bright steel armour which can’t be destroyed regardless, as in nothing you can do. Scary right? The fights look smooth and real does make players focus on precision. We just hope the ogres don’t turn out to be a big joke as in slow movements and easy to beat. They better be fast, deadly and nothing to play around with.
Overall Extinction does look awesome. the graphics are great. The concept is really cool. the enemies are really cool. The story is interesting. The fighting system is great and the upgrades do shake things up and does make things easier for the main character Avil. Yes there isn’t a multiplayer but the online high score system is suitable for a game like this for now. The developers ‘Iron Galaxy’ did a fantastic job. We at X35 Earthwalker look forward to seeing what this game has got for us. Now 150ft tall orgs with clubs could crush anything but it still can’t crush… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Unruly Heroes is a new 2D action adventure game developed by ‘Magic Design Studios‘. It’s coming out later this quarter of the year on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC. This game has quite the story to tell. Let’s take a look.
Let’s start from the very beginning. Unruly Heroes was inspired by a famous Chinese legend which we are sure many have heard of. It’s called ‘A journey to the West’. The Monkey king legend. So straight away there are some expectations in terms of the story, it’s depth, music and messages for the gamers. Already we at X35 Earthwalker are interested.
The developers claim that Unruly Heroes will be an epic adventure and that it will be an unforgettable experience. We can see this being true. The concept behind the game and inspiration should make that easier to accomplish. There are four characters and straight away the creativity is shown. there is a human who seems to be spiritual based and is surrounded by light, maybe to symbolise a moral or holy nature. The next is a fat pig (KiHong) who appears to laugh a lot, suggesting that he’s the most laid back and relaxed one. The next is a large blue monster but humanoid, having knowledge and uses martial arts. The last is a monkey (WuKong) who has a staff and looks a bit too cool to be a regular staff wielding monkey.
Not much information is given concerning game but we have checked out some gameplay and it reminds us of ‘Rayman Origins‘. The gameplay looks awesome. Dash, run, jump, and off course lots of combat. Their are bosses to defeat and each of the four characters have different fighting styles. KiHong is very agile and relies a lot on strength tactics as well. The monkey is heavily reliant on his weapon which can change size and he can even turn into a bird. The large blue monster is martial arts hand to hand combat heavy with mighty strikes. The human who acts too graceful has mystical powers and uses light to strike enemies whether in balls of light or worse. So yep it’s quite clear who our favourite character is already.
From what we have already seen Unruly heroes looks awesome. KiHong has some awesome looking aerial moves and serious combos. There is a giant monster who looks like it’s going to become a problem. This game off course supports four player co-op which sounds awesome by the way. There is also a PvP mode which sounds even cooler. Hopefully none of the characters are OP. The bosses seem to have their own characteristics and styles which we certainly appreciate. The graphics and style are excellent indeed. Hand drawn art work and it looks amazing so far. Maybe if we saw more it might make our top 5 list.
Overall Unruly Heroes looks awesome. The concept is there, the graphics are amazing and the music is what we wanted. When you hear it, you think of Chinese legends which is what it should have. The developers ‘Magic Games Studios’ did an awesome job so far. We at X35 Earthwalker are looking forward to Unruly Heroes and what this game has to offer. Now the Unruly Heroes may been skilled fighters but even them combined aren’t a match for… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Titan Fall 2 is a serious game. Developed by ‘Respawn Entertainment‘ and published by Electronic Arts. The first Titan Fall game did something really awesome but did have some issues. Personally many critics and gamers were not so good at judging the game and instead just jumped on the negative train. Titan Fall is a great game but Titan Fall 2 is something else. It has what the first game had but more and better.
The first big thing about Titan Fall 2 is that it has a campaign mode. The campaign from what we have seen so far is pretty interesting. The game aims to hit players with the emotions. The campaign focuses a lot on the bond between Titan and Pilots. At the start of the game we saw our instructor fight hard to protect us and take down the enemies. His Titan was outnumbered and eventually got taken down. The hero didn’t survive but before he died he transfer control and ownership of the Titan to the player. It’s from there that things get serious. The action is hard and fast. What the campaign does well is that finding and getting different weapons is easy. There are guns on the floor, guns from enemies you killed, guns in weapon boxes etc. So getting ammo and weapons is never the problem.
The difficulty is fair. Even if you play in the second hardest mode, you will feel that everything is how it should be. Enemies don’t instant kill you but they will certainly kill you quick but giving chances. The campaign quite quickly introduces players to new weapons, features and skills level by level and scene by scene. The graphics are off course very good. It would be right to say excellent. Now in terms of characters players will have to face some significant people who pose a serious threat. Their personalities are so different and they stand out. They will take you on in a battle of titans. So prepare to face Titans both old but mostly new. These boss battles are excellent. It feels like a real battle. The most epic and OP thing so far is the ability to travel between time at will. Rewind to the past when everything was fresh and new or go back to the flaming and destroyed state that it’s currently in. Do this to avoid laser walls, flaming pits, automated turrets, troops and more. It’s awesome, endless assassination kills. The campaign so far is been great fun.
The multiplayer is still where it’s at right now. There are more maps and honestly two of them X35 Earthwalker himself completely hates which is only natural not every player is going to like everything. Most of the levels are very diverse from each other and straight up cool, providing many places and opportunities to use your pilot skills to the max. Take note that some levels are more parkour heavy than others. The range of weapons and abilities that players can select from is big and unlike some others there is a reason to use some over others. but this system isn’t perfect either. For starters the best kind of weapons to use in this game is hands down the rifles. The assault rifles are perfect for any situation. They are quick, deal damage fast, bullets to get at least a double kill and with the right attachments can even kill pilots at long range. Snipers are the worst. Titan Fall 2 is all about speed. Pilots run fast, move along walls, grapple to high locations, speed boost around and slid. They basically never stop moving and incredibly fast, how are you suppose to land a sniper shot. The snipers aren’t even instant hit like the ones in Halo. This means that the bullets must travel so you have to aim ahead but how do you aim ahead of pilot that jumps on that wall, then that wall then randomly slides then jumps for no reason then grapples then gets killed buy your team mate because you took too long. No the answer is not “git good scrub”.
Choose between rifles, pistols, sub machine guns, light machine guns, snipers and grenadier. Keep track of your progress with each weapon and unlock attachment and perks for them like faster weapon swap, more ammo, different scopes etc. The abilities are bigger and better. Go invisible for a short period of time, set up a holographic wall that increase the damage of your weapons when you fire through it, use a grapple hook to reach high, far and difficult places, use stem to run and move nearly twice as fast with healing, phase from place to place, use sonar knives to expose enemies, trick foes with holograms it’s all up to players. All are accessible from the start. Many load outs too so switching between them is easy during matches. Grenades, arc grenades that stun and blind, shrikes of fire or gravity, satchel packs for traps and more. There is so much to choose from. It’s going to be difficult to find another pilot with the east same load out as you in a match. Customisation has increased also, now you can decide the colour, patterns and looks of your character, weapons, patches and banners. What’s bad though is that each pilot ability is attached to a certain character model. For example the stim ability makes you use a skinny robot that doesn’t look cool. Honestly we wanted a normal human pilot but nope. Stuck with a weird skinny robot.
The best and most significant part of Titan Fall 2 are the Titans themselves. What else could it be? There are seven different Titans for players to drop in. Ion, Scorch, Northstar, Ronin, Tone, Legion and Monarch. Each one has a different weapon, different abilities and different strengths. Ion is your basic all rounded Titan. A laser to snipe Pilots and trip wires to keep Titans at bay. Scorch is heavy defence and damage but so slow, he sets the ground on fire and send wall of flames your way (sort of). Northstar snipes and keep its’s distance, capable of flying in the air and bombing from above. Ronin is light armour but wields a sword, dashing around the field and giving over Titans a nice hair cut. Tone hates privacy because it reveals all enemy locations thanks to it’s sonar knives making landing those heavy shots so easy. Legion wields a chain gun that shreads targets and like black beard from rainbow six siege can have a gun shield to protect it s self from damage. Monarch relies on it’s levelling up on the field and gaining new abilities each time..if it survives that long.
Off course you have to pick the Titan that works best with you. Some titans are less effective on certain levels. Big open spaces is where the Scorcher has a hard time since it’s main attack is a arc travelling single shot and others can shoot it from across the map. Monarch needs to get kills while staying alive. The upgrades turn the Monarch from the weakest titan to the strongest. North star needs more open space for it’s sniping but if some titans try to get close aim for buildings and cover and play ring around the rosey then use your hover ability to get in the air and land shots and rockets from above. Legion Just needs to see it’s target. That’s it. Legion is powerful enough fight others straight up but has limited options. Know when to use the close range and long range mode. There no real trick to Ion, just works like your regular titan but when you get the core ability you can laser eye others while looking so awesome. Tone is all about the long and mid range fight and using the sonar to expose pilots is far more useful so just pick them off when you find them. We must say though that there is nothing more satisfying than getting a level three Monarch. Also setting the ground on fire to do great damage and then finish them off with the core ability.
Titan Fall 2 is awesome. The matches are all fast pace. Literally, we never have to wait long for another match. The assault rifles feel very good. Movement and combat speed is fast and smooth. The a.i units are very responsive, have more animations and actions. The stalkers and reapers are actually a threat and shouldn’t be ignored. We do however feel that the ronin should have slightly less health because even if you are at close range wth the sword and swinging, the Ronin shouldn’t still be able to beat Titans that have be classed as high health and armour. It does take a bit too long to unlock more weapons and abilities. The XO-16 gun that the Monarch has should have less spread on the weapon when firing. The Northstar’s plasma railgun should have more damage. When you let it fully charge it doesn’t feel that much stronger. There should have been in game taunts for pilots to use to mock enemy players after killing them. Getting into your enemies heads.
Overall Titan Fall 2 is still an awesome game to play even now. There are a lot of players still going hard at the game. Lots of things to unlock and try out. Even though some weapons are better than others, you should still try them all. The mini missile launcher is next on our list. Try all the Titans and just have fun. Get those executions when you can because they feel good (when you are the one doing it). The scoring system for attrition doesn’t make that much sense right now. So give it a try and have fun. Titan Fall 2 may be an improvement over the last one but it still doesn’t match up to… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Light Fall is a new 2D platform game developed by “Bishop Games“. It’s coming out in March on the Xbox One, Nintendo Switch, PS4 and PC. This game has got a number of fans excited and looking forward to it. Let’s take a look.
Light Fall takes place in the forgotten world of Numbra. Off course like any other game the land is in trouble. Imminent danger. Players control a small little black flame looking dude which has the shadow core. The shadow core is key for success and survival for there are many challenges and enemies along the way. We definitely hope the enemies are actually interesting and pose a real threat to the players.
It says on Steamthat, “Control the shadow core and use it the way you see fit”. Now this can’t be true. Games like this normally have obstacles that require a certain way to get past them. This means at most there could be two ways of doing this. You can smash through certain things. Use the core as a platform meaning it’s quite limited, so we will have to see how much freedom we are actually given.
What’s interesting in Light Fall is that the dark prevails over the light. Probably one of the biggest mechanic of the game is the side kick. The side kick is ‘Stryx’ who is described as a old and grumpy owl. This owl will either give you useful advice to help you or will mock you when you fail. Stryx is also Light Fall’s narrator. So players may not like this owl but we are sure it has a lot to say so make sure to listen to it.
Light Fall does offer a lot for gamers to do. It’s suppose to be a large world. There are many locations to explore like the Vipera’s Forest, Lunar Plain, the unknown Depths and even the Marshlands of Sorrows. There are alternate paths and short cuts sort of like Super Mario Bros 3. Also for the completionists out there are hidden Easter eggs and off course collectibles. At this point, games like this need this kind of stuff. So it’s more than just a simple platformer.
We checked out some gameplay and from what we have seen it looks cool. There is a free mode where you get complete control of the shadow core but then your character stays still. The movement seems quite quick, the wall bouncing is nice. Also when and where you jump of objects or hills effect how far you go, so things like getting a running start does change things. You can use the core to smash things, block lasers, push buttons etc. There are what seems like bosses to beat in the future like Orlog, Shen and Firas. The difficulty seems very low, especially since you can create a platform at will multiple times to cross large gaps. We hope it gets real difficult.
Overall Light Fall seems like a cool game. Graphics are excellent, animations are great here. Definitely made very well and has the setting and concept to definitely stand out but we haven’t seen anything that makes us at X35 Earthwalker want to play it. This game is similar to Outland but Outlamd set the bar far too high. Games like Light Fall do not reach that bar. So we would rather just play Outland again. Light Fall needs to answer why we should bother with this game. We will have to see.
The developers ‘Bishop Games’ did a good job with this game but we have written about other games similar and this one doesn’t stand out more than the others. We at X35 Earthwalker need to see more of what Light Fall has to offer. Now the Light there may be falling but there is one thing that can’t fall and that’s… the ‘Earth Walk!’
The Long Reach is a new puzzle adventure game developed by ‘Painted Black Games’. This game is coming out March 14th on the Xbox One, PS4, Nintendo Switch, Mac and PC. Games like this are only for a specific category of gamers. Let’s take a look.
Many have compared The Long Reach to ‘Lone Survivor‘ but we don’t see that much. If anything it’s more comparable to ‘In the Shadows’ but whatever. Basically it’s pixel style graphics in a big world though. Big in terms of what is going on. Some have classed it as a horror game. We can see that too but wouldn’t say that either. It just seems like another game where you go around, talk to characters and collect stuff. The setting though is different.
In The Long Reach, the game takes place in new hampshire in the town of baervox. You play normal people in a regular town. Things; however get real bad because of scientists. Once again it’s the scientists. They always ruin everything. Basically they were working on something called experience-sharing program. Now people have nightmares and dreams without being asleep. This is crazy and creative of The Long Reach. Just imagine this. Kids running if fear because they see Freddy Fazbear from Five Nights at Freddy’schasing them in broad daylight. Or old war veterans grabbing their guns again because they see the enemy army soldiers coming around. Or Teenagers chasing after their favourite celebrities. It will turn the whole town crazy, which is exactly what happened. Many went insane.
Now the game does encourage you to try and escape and save yourself but you can try to help fix the problem going on. You will need to talk to everyone as much as you can to get information from them but be careful. Some people aren’t exactly as sane as you think you are. Some might try to attack you because if they are having a nightmare they may see you as a wretch from Gears of war, so may try to kill you with a crowbar or something. So whenever you are in trouble just run. Seriously, just run! Otherwise they won’t think twice about it.
Most importantly, especially if you want to make progress in terms of fixing the problem and solving puzzles, you need to collect everything. Every item you find may come in handy in the future. So exploration is incredibly important. Be that player who sees something shiny in the trash bin.
We checked out some gameplay and we can it’s just like some of the others. Run back and forth find stuff, see something is it danger then act accordingly. It isn’t anything special from what we have seen but it is done very well. The set up is good, the sounds are very good and the whole world looks good too. The mysteries within The Long Reach is the games best feature here. What is real? What is a nightmare? Who are you really? What’s going on? why are there giant tentacles like that of a monster? So much going on.
Overall this game this is good but again only for certain gamers. Many will not like this game at all or not get into it. It’s something you just have to check out for yourself. It’s easy to know what this game is about and sort of what it has to offer. The developers ‘Painted Black Games’, did a good job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker aren’t interested at all but other gamers may certainly be. Seriously we encourage all to check it out for themselves. Now some may be reaching for this game but no one can reach… the ‘Earth Walk!’
Battalion 1944 is a new first person shooter World war 2 game developed by ‘Bulkhead Interactive‘ and published by ‘Square Enix‘. It’s coming out later in this quarter of the year on the Xbox One, PS4 and PC. Also an early access for Battalion 1944 is out the 1st of February for PC on Steam. This game is suppose to recapture the core of classic competitive shooters. Let’s take a look.
There isn’t too much information given out about Battalion 1944. We do know that it is multiplayer heavy emphasis. There seems to be limited weapons. We know there will be a Kar98 which is a bolt action rifle and a Thompson. So it’s going back to complete basics. As in everyone has the same weapons, covering fire and heavy single shot damage. So moving around, covering angles and working together are the main factors here in deciding who wins these matches.
Since Battalion 1944’s aim is to be classic there won’t be any power ups or bonus like nukes and dogs from call of duty or armour and spartan abilities like from Halo. Just standard weapons and yourself really. Battalion 1944 is being put together by firstly people who grew up playing competitive first person shooters and professional first person shooter players.
There are a multiple of game modes which we all know by now like Team death match, free for all, Capture the flag and Domination. There is also War Tide which is quite new. Basically there are two teams of five and two weapon armouries. The armouries provide weapons but only as you kill the enemies from what we get from the information.
Yes there are rewards for playing like ‘War chests’ which come after levelling up. Since it’s a classic shooter there won’t be no booster weapons or perks. Instead they are all cosmetic like weapon skins.
We checked out some gameplay and really this game is very simple to understand in terms of gameplay but very basic. The Thompson kills people quickly but the Kar98 if you land the headshot kills instantly so skill is rewarded here. Other weapons like shotguns may be map power weapons. very basic and simple.
Overall Battalion 1944 looks like am good game and definitely there is a group of gamers who would be interested in this style of gameplay. The graphics are good. The developers ‘Bulkhead Interactive’ did a good job with this game. We at X35 Earthwalker aren’t interested in this game as it’s not out style or thing but others will be. Now classic shooters keep it simple but far to simple for… the ‘Earth Walk!’
