Snake pass is a new 3D physics based puzzle platform game, developed by ‘Sumo Digital’, coming out 28th of March for the US but 29th for Europe on Xbox One, Steam, Windows 10, Nintendo Switch and PS4. In this game you play ‘Noodle’ the snake who has a friend, a humming bird called ‘Doodle’. Basically their natural habitat, ‘Haven Tor’ has been invaded by a mysterious interloper who is disturbing the peace and order of the place. So Noodle and Doodle are going to handle the problem.

This game just looks fun. Noodle looks like he is a curios snake but also at times silly. A nice design for a snake and already that makes us like Noodle. We don’t get that same feel from Doodle but we will have to see more of that character from the game in time. As Noodle, you have to slither around, climb, wrap around, twist and reach your way through the levels to reach ledges, collect objects and pull levers. The movement of the snake is excellent and you can tell that some time went into just the snakes movement alone. It pays of here. What’s also great is that you get to swim and go through water like what snakes do. Once in the water you are free to swim and move as you please and that’s awesome. It’s always great for any game to have some realistic features.

This game has 4 world theme. Each world has their own unique features and hazards just waiting for the player. There are 15 levels to conquer and each one filled with snake based obstacles. This game has a simple but correct learning curve. The levels start of simple and then get increasingly difficult to the point where there may be moments where you scratch your head. We are interested to see what these levels contain and fully look like but we all must wait. What we do know is that since it’s a 3D puzzle platformer, you know that their will be lots of collectibles. We see glowy blue lights, coins and green symbols. So it isn’t just slithering around.

This game looks very nice. The graphics look are great and everything is very colourful. The environments are very interesting as they remind us of super mario galaxy with the whole floating areas and stuff. The sounds are better though, especially the sound of the water and your movements through it. The animations of the snake are all very good. Lots of effort has definitely went into this game. The developers ”Sumo Digital’ did a very good job with this game. X35 Earthwalker himself says that his favourite thing about the game so far seems to be the snake, ‘Noodle’.

Overall this seems like a fun game that even children would enjoy playing. There should be lots to do and want to know more about the game. It just may be worth checking out but whether you do or not… Never forget to do the ‘Earth Walk’!
